Reliable sources[edit]

Hello Vuanicau, I reverted your addition to Laucala because it was not adequately sourced and indicated that it was based on unpublished research. You can still see the old version in the page history.

The only sources we can use here are published, reliable sources such as journal articles, books by experts, and sometimes news articles. Geni and Wikipedia can't be used as sources.

Have a look at our guidelines about original research. Unless your research has been published somewhere that has editorial standards, we can't use it.

Since Wikipedia has no way of verifying who is an expert, we rely on people just summarizing what reliable secondary sources say.

You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, it's very easy or even automatic to add citations if you're citing a journal or a webpage, you just need the DOI or the URL.

If you have any questions about editing, feel free to write on my talk page or come ask at the Teahouse
