Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:01, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because ... (As a functioning entity, Vormir Studios has completed numerous projects across various domains. Our portfolio includes personal and film websites, along with digital marketing endeavors such as social media management, exemplified by our work on the movie "Kappela". You can find us on various social media platforms where we actively engage with our audience. The creator of this Wikipedia page is the same individual who founded Vormir Studios, aiming to provide insights into our operations and projects. While our official website is under construction, we've provided links to our Instagram and other social media profiles for reference. This page will evolve gradually to offer more comprehensive information. It's important to note that this effort isn't solely for promotional purposes; rather, it serves as a means for clients and the public to gain a deeper understanding of Vormir Studios, an active and impactful entity in the industry. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and X ("Twitter")) --Vormir Studios (talk) 09:06, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I've created this page with the sole intention of introducing my Studios to the world. While I've undertaken various projects, they haven't involved any financial transactions. Instead, these projects were aimed at establishing connections within the industry for future endeavors. This page isn't intended for promotional purposes or any ulterior motives. As the founder of the studios, my goal is simply to inform the world of our existence and our ability to assist in bringing media content to a broader audience through services like social media management, website creation, and advertisement. One notable collaboration includes creating a 15-second advertisement in Times Square using the TSX app, for which I possess all relevant documentation. I had some confusion about the title "User:Vormir Studios" because I wanted it to simply be "Vormir Studios." I'm new to Wikipedia and watched a few tutorial videos on how to create an article before starting. I want to emphasize that this page isn't just for promotion; it's a genuine representation of our work. We've completed numerous projects, and I have all the necessary details and documentation. Please let me know what wrong I have done. Your head will be invaluable so I can bring back my page and let the world know that this entity exists. Vormir Studios (talk) 09:30, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I'll go one request at a time. "The sole intention of introducing my Studios to the world", that's pretty much the definition of promotional editing. Also, this edit is not justified. And I looked at your user page: "official Wikipedia page for Vormir Studios, created by the Vormir Studios team", that's not a thing: there are no "official pages" owned by corporations or even individuals, and "we lead with creative solutions"--again, it doesn't get more promotional than that. Exactly the reason is that I didn't know about how Wikipedia works. I just saw some tutorials, and I just started doing it. Now I know how the guidelines is working. That's why I just said the truth. There's nothing else other than that. Now I know I'm not able to create a page without being following the guidelines And I know how to use it now that I will learn more and verify everything. Even think about it, I just created a user, then I thought, I'm creating a page for my studios itself. But it's just a user page that I have to edit 10 pages. Then. I have to finish four days after creating the account. I didn't know about that. That's why you created the studios within the user page itself. So I know that what wrong have done. And I am willing to correct it.

Page deleted and I was blocked! Please Help me out, as I am New to Wikipedia!

[edit]

As I am new to Wikipedia, I created my studio's page. I saw some videos, and I saw some tutorials to create I don't know what wrong I have done, because my page was deleted by saying it was a promotional page. Whatever I have written over there, it's about my studios, what we do, what works we do, what is this studio is about. That's all the matter I have written, and I have also mentioned I will update this page with more information about the movies which we have worked, what all the services we have done for the clients, everything but it was suddenly flagged as a promotional page and it was delete it. I don't know what wrong I have done. Can you please help me out, Also my account is blocked, How could I come back from it? If I have done something wrong, I am willing to correct it. Thank you. ~~~~ Vormir Studios (talk) 10:01, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Reason for unblocking request:

I created my account with the username of my studio because my initial intention was to create a Wikipedia page for my studio. As a new user, I did not realize that using an organization's name as a username violated Wikipedia's policies. Consequently, my page was flagged and my account was blocked.

Regarding the issue of promotional content, I included external links to my clients’ websites, which do not exist on Wikipedia, and described the services my organization provides, such as digital marketing, billboard advertisement, and sub-management services. I now understand that these actions were inappropriate and contrary to Wikipedia's guidelines on advertising and promotion.

I sincerely apologize for these mistakes. I request that my account be unblocked and pledge not to create any new pages until I am fully familiar with Wikipedia's guidelines. I will also seek guidance from the Wikipedia team to ensure my contributions comply with the platform's standards.

My sole intention in creating the page was to inform the world about the existence of my studio. I understand the errors I made and am committed to following all Wikipedia guidelines in the future.

Thank you for your consideration and assistance in this matter.

I realize now that it was a mistake to think I could quickly create a page and get it indexed. I understand where I went wrong and am now familiar with Wikipedia's guidelines. If my account is unblocked, I promise not to rush into creating another page. The gist of this whole process is that right now we don't want you writing about your studio. That might be permitted in the future, but you will first need to show us an understanding of relevant policies(like those of content and sourcing) through editing in areas unrelated to your conflict of interest, before we do that. You will also need to declare as a paid editor as I assume that you make a living through your work with your studio. If you are only here to write about your studio and its work, this is the end of the road. If you want to be a more general contributor, please tell what topics you might edit about. 331dot (talk) 07:40, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello (331dot), I will explain clearly. Four years ago, I started a Wikipedia page but left it due to a lack of references. Recently, I returned and realized I could edit it. I didn't know the guidelines then.

I edited the article about Jibu Jacob, a director I created a website for, without payment, because I know him. The official website link on his Wikipedia page was outdated, pointing to the Wayback Machine from 2013. The correct, updated website is the one I created. Not knowing the guidelines, I added my studio's name, which was a mistake.

If I need to update an article for a client who gave permission to change their old website link, is that valid? I was unaware of guidelines like auto-confirmation after four days and ten edits. Now, I will not create pages suddenly. I'll ensure I have valid reasons and understand the guidelines. I might consult Wikipedia editors or use services like Fiverr for my studio's page, as it's my dream for it to be known worldwide.

I understand, and I will look further into:

WP (Conflict of Interest), WP (Neutral Point of View), and WP (Verifiability).

I will consult experienced Wikipedia editors or use platforms like Wikipedia's Teahouse to ensure my edits comply with guidelines. I will avoid editing articles where I have a conflict of interest unless I follow proper procedures, like proposing changes on the talk page instead of directly editing.

I request to unblock my account so I can contribute correctly. I don’t want to create another account to hide my mistakes. I understand Wikipedia is about contributions from everyone.

I have many clients and have worked on many films. I created websites for them without payment. My studio hasn't made a profit yet because these projects were to build industry connections. If I start making a profit, I will update that information. I understand my mistake and am ready to correct it. I won’t create a page for my studio until I have permission and a valid reason. I will discuss with other Wikipedia contributors.

I ask for my account to be unblocked. I have reviewed Wikipedia’s guidelines, including the declaration of payment. The article about Jibu Jacob was updated with his permission, and he didn’t pay me. I thought I could edit it to provide correct information. The current valid website is the one my studio created. My mistake was in self-promotion. I understand my mistake now and am willing to correct it.

So are you telling us that you created the page on Jibu Jacob, using a different account? Or which was the page that you created and abandoned? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:11, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, this is the only account I have. I created a website for Jibu Jacob, not his Wikipedia page. Vormir Studios (talk) 20:27, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your username has been changed, so that's out of the way, thanks. However, I see no attempt at paid-editor disclosure, no indication of any interest in making non-promotional edits to our encyclopaedia and no real understanding of the reason for the original block. To remind you, that was "Your account ... has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia". Until and unless you're able to explain what was wrong with your edits and how you intend to make a positive contribution to this project, I can see no reason to reverse that block. Your request is declined. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:05, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You've improved in that you have agreed to not edit about your studio, but you haven't said what edits you will make instead. Your studio doesn't have to be profitable for you to be a paid editor; I assume that your work with the studio is your job and that you get a salary even if the studio hasn't made money. 331dot (talk) 16:34, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What edits will I make instead:
If I encounter a situation where a director, celebrity, or any subject I know has outdated or incorrect information on their Wikipedia page, I will proceed as follows:
- I will disclose my conflict of interest on the article's talk page, explaining my connection to the subject and the specific outdated or incorrect information.
- I will provide the correct information, including any new website links, and provide evidence if available.
- I will request other editors to review and update the information, mentioning whether any payment was involved.
- I will ensure my request aligns with Wikipedia's policies on neutrality and verifiability.
If I do not receive a response for a long time, I will wait to get a response. If no response is received, then I will make the edit and note it in the talk section of that page.
Additionally, I will not attempt to create a page for my studio without first consulting with the Wikipedia community to ensure compliance with all guidelines. I will also help the Wikipedia community by making sure that I follow the Wikipedia guidelines in all my contributions, not just regarding website links but in every aspect of Wikipedia editing. Vormir Studios (talk) 17:51, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Someone else will review your request, but I think right now you aren't in a position to edit about subjects with which you are personally acquainted with, as that is a conflict of interest. 331dot (talk) 08:25, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand the concerns regarding conflicts of interest and I agree with your assessment. Moving forward, I will refrain from directly editing articles about subjects with which I am personally acquainted. Instead, I will disclose my conflict of interest on the talk pages and propose changes there for review by neutral editors. However, I have a concern regarding situations where the information I provide is the latest and most accurate, especially when the existing information on Wikipedia is outdated or incorrect. How should I proceed in such cases to ensure that Wikipedia remains up-to-date without violating the conflict of interest guidelines? Vormir Studios (talk) 17:24, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You would proceed no differently than any other edit. There's no exception for timeliness; this is an encyclopedia and WP:THEREISNORUSH. The proper place for a company to keep their customers aware of the latest information is their website, not here. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 22:31, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for updating my username.
I would like to sincerely apologize for any past actions that were perceived as promotional or against Wikipedia’s guidelines. I understand now that my edits were considered promotional, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. This was a mistake on my part, and I am committed to correcting it.
To clarify, I have not engaged in paid editing. All edits I made were done voluntarily, and I did not receive any compensation. However, I understand the importance of disclosing any potential conflicts of interest, which I will ensure to do transparently in the future.
I intend to contribute positively to Wikipedia by making non-promotional edits and focusing on maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. I have reviewed Wikipedia’s guidelines, including those on conflict of interest, neutrality, and verifiability. Moving forward and I will go through WP:10SR. Focus on Verifiable Information: Ensure all contributions are supported by reliable sources and adhere to Wikipedia’s verifiability standards.
I understand that my past actions have led to a lack of trust, and I am committed to rebuilding that trust by adhering to Wikipedia’s guidelines. Aka072 (talk) 12:21, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
