A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Vladtranslator, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or website, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:16, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I apologize for violating Wikipedia's username and self-promotion policies, which I was unaware of at the time. It was never my intention to use Wikipedia for self-promotion.

The edits I made to the Polygon (blockchain) and Avalanche (blockchain) pages were aimed at reaching the 10-edit threshold, as I understood this to be a requirement for starting translations. Nevertheless, those edits were intended to contribute meaningfully by adding new information, incorporating reliable references, and improving the content by removing outdated or overly technical sections.

My purpose in creating the account was to translate pages into my native language, both to gain experience in translation and to make important information accessible to readers in my country who do not speak English.

I sincerely apologize for breaking the rules and assure you that this was unintentional. I kindly request that my account be unblocked so I can continue contributing to the Wikipedia community in a constructive and policy-compliant manner. Thank you for considering my request. Vladtranslator (talk) 22:20, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You don't need to be unblocked from this Wikipedia if your intention is only to translate articles from here into your native language. You were blocked because you edited your user page to promote yourself and your website(I find it difficult to see how you were unintentionally doing that). Furthermore, editing about crypto and blockchain has its own special rules(see below for an official notification) due to past and persistent disruption, and those need to be observed strictly. You admit you were gaming the system to obtain advanced permissions to directly create articles; the system exists for a reason. (I'm puzzled by that, as if your intention is to translate into your native language, you don't really need to edit this Wikipedia, just the target one). If you have edits you want to make to this project, please tell what those might be in a new request. 331dot (talk) 09:54, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

What I said is that I was unaware of self-promotion policies, since there is no mention about these policies in the Wikipedia's policies and guidelines nor the Etiquette. Only after creating my user page that I learned about self-promotion policies, I didn't even know that my username was against the username policy.
Also, I wasn't trying to game the system, in my head I was following the rules. For what I had understood I had to edit some pages in order to be able to translate. That was my intend when I created the account. Also I wasn't aware that this wikipedia is separated from the target one, what I thought is that I needed to edit some pages in any wikipedia language so I could be able to translate.
So let me request unblock and a username change again. Now following all these steps:
  1. Disclosure: I would and did not receveid any paid contribution for any edit in any page nor in the user page;
  2. Convince: I understood that my username didn't follow the username policy and that I created a user page for self-promotion, since I was unaware of both policies. Now that I'm aware I will not repeat this. I don't even intend to create a user page no more.
  3. Describe: My intention since the beggining was only to translate some crypto and blockchain pages which I found important to be in my native language, but after editing some pages in the source language, I enjoyed it, and found a lot of outdated material, which I can contribute to improve those pages. My intention is to edit the source pages if necessary, and then translate them to the target one.
  4. Provide a new username: If you could, I kindly ask you to change my username to Vladimir Silva. I promise I won't break any rules anymore and I will read more carefully all the pages about all the wikipedias policies.
