Hi all, I am new to Wikipedia. I am trying to write a page for the grammy winning record producer, Rob Fraboni. He has produced Bob Dylan, The Band, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, the Beach Boys, Bonnie Raitt and was a VP at Island records under Chris Blackwell where he remastered Bob Marley's entire collection. He is quoted and referenced on many pages relating to these artists and their records but has no page of his own. I was trying to post his biography but got copyright violations. I have worked with him for 12 years and have been collaborating with him on his autobiography, so I know my information is accurate. The biography I am trying to put up is his bio of record, written by Joe Viglione (with permission) and posted on many other sites (so I am getting a copyright violations). Verifiability

I got a message that my article on Rob Fraboni was proposed for deletion and I'm not sure what to do. I put 3 sources there, but also, a lot is also referenced by wikipedia itself. His name is mentioned and he is quoted all over wikipedia, on the Bob Dylan and the Band pages, the bonnie raitt pages, and many others music pages where he worked on the records. Most of the facts I wrote are about records he worked on, which is easily verifiable, and I posted a link to his discography on discogs.com because it was so long I didn't have the time to type it all in to the page. I know what I am writing is true because a some of this I have personally witnessed and what I didn't was told to me by either the subject or the artists themselves. - There are actually many possibilities this action can take. Much of it has mostly to do with what you want to do. I might have advised you to submit your article through Articles for creation to avoid the possibility of this type of deletion request. If you can improve the article to meet the sourcing requirements for a WP:BLP, you should do so. when the article is within guidelines more than likely the nominating editor will withdraw the WP:PROD.

question about saving a page I'm working on that's not ready yet
[edit]Hi! I'm working on a new page and I can't finish it all at once. I saved it on the userpages/vixhenry.... Is that the right place to work on something gradually that doesn't go live and can't be deleted like the sandbox? Thank you
- You should really build your new articles using the sandbox. Your User page is normally for you to tell everyone a little bit about yourself. The Talk page (this one) is normally for messages and conversations between you and other Wikipedians. Now you've released your Sharon Gannon article, it'll probably save confusion if you wipe it from your User page and write something about you there instead. You've got a paragraph at the top of this page that you could move there, I think.

Jivamukti logo
[edit]Hello Vixhenry - concerning the higher-res Jivamukti logo that you uploaded and substituted into the article: it is not clear to me how you are able to authorize the release of this image under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license. This is a trademarked image, owned by Jivamukti, andn can only be released by Jivamukti. The low-res image that I had uploaded and used was done so under the very limited fair use Wikipedia:Non-free content status (see also Wikipedia:Logos), and is justified for use specifically because no other similar image CAN be found...
Wikipedia needs to be very careful about trademark infringement, so unless you are a legal representative of Jivamukti Yoga, Inc. and are releasing its trademarked logo into the public domain (a situation which I higher doubt is the case) then I will have to revert the image to the old one and refer your uploaded logo for speedy deletion. Rob Fraboni image
[edit]Hello Vixhenry - I just wanted to give you a heads-up that the Rob Fraboni image on your article is up for deletion. The editor who flagged it it seems to think that you are Sharon Gannon (lol) but the primary issue is that unless you are it's creator, Scott Albertson, you need to obtain written authorization from the creator for the image to be released under CC. For any image uploaded, Wikipedia requires that it is one of the following:
- Own work: You own all rights to the image, usually meaning that you created it entirely yourself. (example, see below for details)
- Freely licensed: You can prove that the copyright holder has released the image under an acceptable free license. Note that images that are licensed for use only on Wikipedia, or only for non-commercial or educational use, or under a license that doesn't allow for the creation of modified/derived works, are unsuitable. (example, see below for details)
- Public domain: You can prove that the image is in the public domain, i.e. free of all copyrights. (example, see below for details)

Steve Chadie was already mentioned on 14 other wikipedia pages before I made the page. I haven't made it to all of them to link his name back. He has exclusively engineered Willie Nelson's recorded material for almost thirty years, which, considering Willie Nelson's importance as an artist, I would think that makes Steve Chadie important as well.
If this page is nominated for deletion, what can I do?
