'VIVEK.R' is a popular lOCAL television anchor,IT Guy,Social Worker & World Recorder. For more than a half decade, he worked as an anchor in popular Tamil premiere local television channel like JAK TV.
[edit] Biography James Vasanthan was born in Tiruchirapalli (Trichy), studied at Bishop Heber School and later, graduated in English literature in Bishop Heber College [1]. Later, he graduated in Carnatic music from Madras University and in Western Music from Trinity College, U.K. and even holds a diploma in Theory of Music.[2] Though music was his "first love" [3], he forayed into TV channel business by working as an anchor in some popular Tamil TV channels.
In 2003, James Vasanthan launched his maiden venture, Vaasanai, a Tamil pop album featuring other prominent TV personalities like Swarnamalya, Uma Padmanabhan and Vijay Adhiraj.[4] Even before that, he has composed music for many good Christian cassettes like "Amarntha Meliya Sabtham" and "Sinthanai Sei". In 2008 then, he eventually entered the Chennai film industry as a music director by composing the songs and score for the Tamil film Subramaniyapuram, directed by M. Sasikumar, who was a student of him in high school,[5], which brought him into prominence with the film's soundtrack gaining fame and being praised [6][7] and the song Kangal Irandal topping the charts and being cited as the "anthem of the year among the youth".[8]
James Vasanthan has recently composed an excellent set of six mellifluos songs for the Tamil movie Yaathumagi. Currently he is working on his next soundtrack for the film Naanayam, which would most probably be released in 2009.
