[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Cherry Lips has been reverted.
Your edit here to Cherry Lips was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy1LdAaGASw) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Hello, I'm XLinkBot. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page When I Grow Up (Garbage song), because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Androgyny (song). Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it.

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to I Think I'm Paranoid. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Bleed Like Me (song). Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines.

{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 16:44, 1 September 2014 (UTC)VitaAZeroKelvin (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I understand the reason why I was blocked: I started adding YouTube links of the official videos uploaded by VEVO to the templates of the Garbage singles. It was something I saw on the Nirvana Wiki page of the Smells Like Teen Spirit single. No spam intended. I didn't see how it could violate Wikipedia guidelines, as some pages still have the official music videos from YouTube in their templates, but I will not repeat the same mistake again. VitaAZeroKelvin (talk) 17:01, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
Decline reason:
From my perspective, it appears you're attempting to frame this unblock request around whether it is legitimate to add YouTube links of the official music videos. In my opinion, that isn't the issue here. At various times, I have added a link, and been notified after adding this link that it is on the blacklist. The difference being that I haven't then continued to try and add similar links. As it happens, there is a process to review whether links should be on the blacklist, and obviously, you wouldn't have been blocked for following this process. However, you ignored 5 warnings posted onto this page and reverted XLinkBot. In this context, I am declining your request to be unblocked. PhilKnight (talk) 16:56, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- The bigger issue is that you were advised to stop ... but refused to stop. the panda ₯’ 09:52, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- I was advised to stop after I had made all those edits! I guess it took a little bit of time before the system recognized the links as spam. Now I'm questioning myself: why some of these official music video links were removed and why some of these remained? And why there's always been one in the templates of the Smells Like Teen Spirit or the Heart-Shaped Box pages? Aren't those considered spam too? VitaAZeroKelvin (talk) 15:10, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- That is factually untrue. By 12:15, 1 September you had received 5 warnings, and then reverted XLinkBot at 12:34, 1 September. PhilKnight (talk) 16:56, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- I respect Wikipedia and its users' work and I definitely don't want to waste anyone's time here. I just wanted to understand where I went wrong and now I see. How can I follow the process to review whether a link should or shouldn't be on the blacklist? VitaAZeroKelvin (talk) 18:04, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Looking at User:XLinkBot/FAQ, you should post on User talk:XLinkBot. PhilKnight (talk) 18:13, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
