VineFynn, good luck, and have fun. Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 07:05, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've been on wikipedia for nearly a decade. VineFynn (talk) 11:23, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I went off half-cocked in my response to you in that Australian Unemployed Workers' Union article 'edit history'

[edit]

I know my response to you was out of order, you were acting in good faith and I made very wrong assumptions about that. I've posted an apology to you in that section of the "Talk" area there, plus a minor edit on the article which comes with an edit history 'note' apologising to you there also. Unfortunately there has been a lot of problematic activity on that article since late August that I've noticed in the last few weeks I've been watching there, but I can certainly see your intentions were not that way at all. Would go back and change that note on my initial edit in the 'history' if I could, but I don't think WP lets us do this :( JayBee00 (talk) 04:12, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the apology, I appreciate it a lot. For my part, I hadn't read the disputes on the talk page well enough to realise they also included the organisation's status as a union. Obviously the revert was appropriate given the controversy.VineFynn (talk) 05:40, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello VineFynn. Curious about your edit summary restoring a SOAPBOX message here. A sockpuppet's post would be even more bright-line deleted than one called unconstructive or vandalism, which can be a matter of judgment. In the context of the massive off-wiki canvassing and tempest in a teapot at Recession, I see no basis to restore that comment. I may archive it shortly. SPECIFICO talk 13:18, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi mate, my reasoning was like I mentioned in the edit summary- it didn't seem like vandalism, which is what your edit summary said was your reason for deleting it. Maybe unconstructive, but I wouldn't ordinarily delete somebody's first talk page entry simply for stating a strongly-held belief of fact. I'd give them a little tutorial about wiki policy or whatever. You can do whatever you want though.
Comment about sockpuppetry was just because the user has no prior edits- was just brainstorming that they might be an alt; a sockpuppet isn't an automatic delete, there are legitimate privacy reasons not to declare one. Who knows? I don't really care either way tbh. CheersVineFynn (talk) 09:22, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
