Draft:Zorin OS review
Hello, I am not sure if you were notified/pinged, but I submitted a request for help and I think your reasoning would help clear this issue up. My main concern is the reason: "not adequately supported by reliable sources". This does not match the fact that my draft has multiple (8) citations of actual news (ie not blogs) or publications. There's 6 if you don't count a book or the Linux official page. I am wondering, how is this not sufficiently sourced reliably? Thanks. HarryKernow. Talk. 02:39, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- @HarryKernow: Oh thanks for pinging! Well please look at WP:Referencing and WP:Secondary as your article appears to be having too many primary sources. I apologise if I didn’t inform properly. Thx VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 08:37, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Vincent60030: Does too many primary sources take away from the reviews? Most of the official (ie primary) sources are update notes to pad out the citations for the table. All of the body for the article is cited by third party sources such as reviews or overviews. I've read WP:SECONDARY and WP:REFERENCING and they do not mention that several primary sources (especially in the context I've used them (which matches WP:PRIMARY)) can make the secondary sources I've used less relevant. In other words, no amount of primary sources can get rid of the fact that the article has plenty of secondary sources for its size. Can you reconsider this or could we possibly get a third opinion? HarryKernow. Talk. 19:57, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah sure. Either way works. I do wanna point out that I’m still slightly new to this haha so I will make some blunders here and there. Thx ya :) keep up the good work! VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 23:59, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Vincent60030: Thanks, could you ping me when you accept it or get a third opinion? Also, sorry if I seem pushy. HarryKernow. Talk. 02:05, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- HarryKernow oh dear! seems like the title has been creation protected. You might have to contact an admin to unprotect it. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 04:18, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

DLR
Hi vincent, DLR max speed was updated with a TfL reference. If you consider TfL not being a reliable source, can you let me know what would it be. Also I do understand Wikipedia must be reliable. But when I amend some pages because they’re wrong, if everything I do is not acceptable because not sourced please keep old pages even if they’re wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.148.116.133 (talk) 19:03, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- well press releases or anything released by TfL is considered primary which is not reliable but in this case I guess it’s fine now. Thanks :) VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 04:28, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
Hello Vincent60030. Thanks for your response. I was not aware of your previous posting at WP:RFPP, because I didn't know that someone signing as 'VKZY' was actually you. Please bear in mind that "A customised signature should make it easy to identify the username.." from WP:SIGN. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 19:13, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- @EdJohnston: Thanks for the info. Would changing it to VincentLUFan be better? VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 03:45, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- The easiest signature to read is the standard one that you get if you turn off the special formatting. But it's up to you. EdJohnston (talk) 04:27, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hmm true. I’ll change to the one I mentioned that haha. Thanks :) VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 05:52, 11 December 2018 (UTC)

Not done
Just letting you know that Template:Did you know nominations/Confessionsofa Ex-Doofus-ItchyFooted Mutha isn't done because it has been waiting for a new reviewer for the past 11 days. SL93 (talk) 06:52, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- @SL93: HAHA yea I just realised the mistake so I'm cleaning up "the mess". Damn interesting hook. Could have been an april fool's DYK XD VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 06:58, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. I'm glad that Yoninah suggested it because my original hook was pretty bland. SL93 (talk) 07:05, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
DYK for Gants Hill tube station
On 14 December 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Gants Hill tube station, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the design of Gants Hill tube station concourse (pictured) was inspired by stations on the Moscow Metro? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Gants Hill tube station. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Gants Hill tube station), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018
Hello Vincent60030,
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.
- Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.
See also the list of top 100 reviewers.
- Less good news, and an appeal for some help
The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.
- Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019
At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.
- Training video
Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

Article written by company's COO
A little heads up, the Applied Aeronautics article submitted by Megannand that was approved a couple of weeks ago appears to have been written by that company's COO, Meg Annand. The recently added infobox (added after the approval) tipped me off and their company's website in the "about us" section seems to verify this. https://www.appliedaeronautics.com/about-us/ Zinnober9 (talk) 08:17, 11 December 2018 (UTC)

St. John's Wood tube station
I disagree with your revert of my contrib of 18 Dec.; on the St John's Wood Underground Station page at Historic England web, I read: quote … St. John's Wood was one of a number of new stations on the line, officially opening on the 20 November 1939, built to designs by Stanley A Heaps. … unquote. Pls consider reverting your revert. --Jan Hejkrlík (talk) 22:51, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Jan Hejkrlík: Please add sources for your claims, as you have added the content in an unsourced section, which is the history section. All claims should be cited, and no original research should be done. Otherwise, it should be either tagged, be added with sources, or to be removed. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 01:52, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Vincent60030: ok, I will be happy to rectify my contrib accordingly. --Jan Hejkrlík (talk) 23:03, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

- Just wait ;) - Your edit summary said you moved Carsten Koch to prep 3, which would be fine, but he went to prep 4, for 2 January, which is possible, but 1 January would be better (Feast day instead of ordinary 1735 Sunday), and 6 January even better. Can you swap or postpone? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:37, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: Actually I swapped the position is because of the availability of the image hooks. I didn't want to make it just plain person person etc. I would wait for the Dec 29 hook to be approved so that it could be reset and I can shift another person hook downwards for yours to be January 1 =D VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 08:41, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- How about swapping prep 1 and 2, - the black and white not so great for the New Year, imho, and the couple would match my grandparent's marriage anniversary perfectly? The Koch-image doesn't show "a person", but many, and Beethoven symphonies (in the hook) would go nicely with the tradition of playing the Ninth on that day ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:47, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

DYK stats for Gants Hill Tube Station

Continuing here
@1.02 editor: I’m gonna continue here and hope he does not see it.
- Well he was actually personally attacking you. Just because you didn’t reply to his messages. He shouldn’t have done that. At least he should explain properly like he wants to know why you reverted the station layout contents etc. He was wrongly associating that most China station articles also have these in the article. So I had to explain to him in Mandarin that he should take a look at some London station articles (especially good article ones and above). He then began to personally attack you and asked you not to edit any other articles related to China because it was fifth anniversary of Zhengzhou East. He assumed that you can’t even speak Mandarin and shouldn’t show off that your mother tongue is Mandarin. I’m like he should actually read the Babel properly. I’m sorry if I butted in but I couldn’t stand these kind of jerks who just go around and personally attack ppl like this. I’ve been through that before anyway. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 10:53, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
Vincent60030 thanks for the translation! I had already settled the situation a few months earlier after a discussion at WT:TWP and WT:China as well as some discussions with contributors to the Zhengzhou station article, and we managed to reach a conclusion that station layouts should not be included in station articles unless the station layout is unique or has lead to the station becoming famous, in which a brief description of the layout would be included in the article.from what I know only LU MRT and Taipei Metro has been completely removed of station layouts due to the current situation in WP:TWP where people are mostly inactive or do their own work. Thanks -1.02 editor (C651 set 217/218) 17:30, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

DYK
This is regarding Bleed India with a Thousand Cuts DYK currently on Queue 6. The article in question contains Gyan Publishing House reference which is not a WP:RS per this & is listed on WP:MF. /* Advice needed on Draft: Bram van Sambeek */
Hello Vincent60030,
You gave feedback on the Draft on Bram van Sambeek. It was the first time that a reviewer gave this particular kind of feedback, so that confuses me. Could you please be more specific as to which sources are unreliable? I would really appreciate it.
--Sobatipep (talk) 12:30, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Sobatipep: Actually what I meant is you have one or more sections which are totally unreferenced. for example the 2007-present section. Also, I've left you an additional comment on the draft page. Please check it out. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 05:02, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
3/1/19 Thanks for the feedback @Vincent60030:. I took most of that section out, as well as other changes. The problem is that those orchestras do not always save their past online. Looked at the page of Izhar Elias, who is mentioned in the Van Sambeek article and he only has 2 references (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Izhar_Elias). So that surprised me. Resubmitted the article again. If you have the time I would appreciate a look. --Sobatipep (talk) 16:18, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
