March 2024[edit]

Hello, I'm Ternera. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to MiHoYo because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Ternera (talk) 18:10, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm Elemimele; I notice that you're doing grammatical updates on a lot of articles, including shifting narratives from the present tense to the past tense. There is nothing wrong with telling a story in the present tense or the past, so I don't think these changes are actually necessary. I have no objection to the changes, but in many cases you're missing a lot of verbs, leading to a story that swaps between present and past tense at random. Here's what you left at Guan Sheng

"Back at Liangshan, Song Jiang faced Guan Sheng. Impressed with Guan's looks and fighting prowess, Song swears (present) he would win him over. He worked out a plan with Huyan Zhuo, a general who has (probably needs to be had) defected after having failed in his imperial mission to stamp out Liangshan, to ensnare Guan. Huyan went to Guan's camp alone, claiming that he had reluctantly joined the bandits and now wanted to clear his name. Guan believed Huyan's claim, especially after the latter having falsely beatened (word doesn't exist) a Liangshan chieftain in a fight on horseback. Not smelling a rat, Guan follows (present) Huyan on a night raid on Song Jiang's camp. He was surrounded, unhorsed by hooks and captured. Treated with great respect by Song Jiang, who vowed that Liangshan is (probably needs to be was) composed of reluctant rebels, Guan is (present) touched and joined the bandits. Xuan Zan and Hao Siwen, who were also captured, followed suit. Zhang Heng and Ruan Xiaoqi were freed. "

This is unhelpful as you've taken a short paragraph that had nothing wrong with it, and introduced six errors. You are also making subtle grammatical errors (for example the change of through to throughout at The Ravages of Time, where through is the correct word)[1] Please could you be careful about this? Hi ternera! no Worries, I am still learning to be better Wiki Editor, these advices are Noted. Thanks for taking the Time. Villkomoses (talk) 09:27, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update, I just checked the Manual of Style, see MOS:PLOT. Changing narratives to the past tense is against Wikipedia's style; please could you stop doing it? Sorry about your wasted time; hopefully you can find other things to do? Elemimele (talk) 13:05, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck with your future editing! Elemimele (talk) 15:49, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, shifting tenses, and many of the other edits you made (most of which are now undone), has nothing to do with grammar. Drmies (talk) 13:22, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fasting and autophagy[edit]

Hello - regarding your question about how fasting and autophagy are linked, my edit summaries for your edits indicated that the possible linkage is speculation and only at the level of lab research, as shown in this report. There is no clinical evidence to indicate normal fasting or calorie restriction involves autophagy as a mechanism of weight loss. Zefr (talk) 17:15, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fabulous Beasts 有兽焉 moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Fabulous Beasts. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources, it has too many problems of language or grammar, it is a poor translation and Develop the article in draft space until it is ready for mainspace. Needs better translation, and the other tagged issues all need to be addressed. Note no Chinese characters should be in the article title.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 11:30, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

July 2024[edit]

Regarding your recent contributions with edit summaries like "Grammatical correction/s for better readability": if English is not your first language I would avoid making these kind of corrections. The original may be perfectly readable as it stands, and rather than removing grammatical errors you are often introducing new ones (and sometimes also stylistic and page formatting errors). Thanks, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 11:54, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:Eder Antonio Souza Portrait Athlete.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Eder Antonio Souza Portrait Athlete.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:54, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Marchjuly,
Awesome for pointing this out, you are welcome to look for an equivalent of the said images that doesn't satisfy the Criteria for non-free use as you claim with ones that does and replace them in the Articles you pointed out, since I believe you have more experience in this Thank you.
