Orphaned non-free image (Image:SNIST.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SNIST.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:48, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SNIST full view.JPG. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:SNIST Full View.jpg. The copy called Image:SNIST Full View.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 13:15, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page move vandalism

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, articles should not be moved, as you did to SNIST, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --barneca (talk) 14:02, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to SNIST, you will be blocked from editing. --barneca (talk) 14:04, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Snistscreamers

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Snistscreamers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ivansanchez 14:06, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:SNISTScreamers.pdf

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SNISTScreamers.pdf. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:09, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SNISTScreamers

[edit]

Vijay 7287, a lot of the edits and page moves you've been making are getting reverted; Snistscreamers is already tagged for speedy deletion, and I'm about to do the same for SNISTScreamers, as it pretty clearly doesn't meet the criteria in WP:BIO. I think you should probably have a look at some of the things in WP:BIO, and indeed in WP:Welcome in general, before you do too much more editing. I'd hate to see you leave in frustration after one day, but you're adding a lot of content that doesn't meet our policies for inclusion, and you're likely to continually get reverted. Feel free to ask me, or really any editor, if you have questions. I'm going to also add the standard welcome template below, as it does have some useful information in it. --barneca (talk) 14:46, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from articles you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. --NeilN 03:23, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
