If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Granny Smith (video game), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. power~enwiki (π, ν) 20:12, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Regards, Hamster Sandwich (talk) 12:59, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I read your message in my talk page, that if i need help from you. That's nice good faith community approaches. My everyday task is editing uncorrected, ambiguous year and grammatic errors. Creating an article is rare to me, especially in video games and entertainment subjects. My always bothering articles are unnecessary and dull writting when I edits. Eg. In the biography article, there is no wriiten "citizenship" describe in the article line and misleading information, "vandalism" that expresses people's opinion, personal attacks such as "insults" and foreign words other than English language; to politicians and professional peoples; that must be prevented from editing. Can you share my help to these ideas please? Video game task (talk) 16:14, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I got your message and if I were to boil it down to a couple key points:

1. Most of your edits are adding dates and location to existing articles

2. You aren't very strong at creating content as in "new articles."

3. What seems like "point of view" editing bothers you when you read it in articles.

4. Some editors have shown very little patience with other editors whose first language is not English

I would like to address these points, if I may...

1. The addition of useful information is paramount to the Wikipedia. As long as the info is verifiable and comes from a source that is trusted, there should be few, if any barriers to addition on new information. Remember to read WP:CITE... IT IS VERY IMPORTANT! Developing good editing habits, you must be able to add citations to your edits, this will help to keep your hard work in the 'pedia and it will help you develop good working relationships with other editors.

2. No one expects every editor to create new articles, although many of us highly appreciate editors who do. There is nothing wrong with making small edits to spelling, typographical and even the addition of trivial info, as long as it is verifiable and the new additions are backed up by either new or existing citations in the article. For example, just yesterday I read an article, went to the citation source and found some info there that should have been included in the article. I added the info, and since the citation for the article was already there, I did not have to add the citation.

3. I found you at the article Rosa Parks after you made a couple minor edits. That is an article which has MANY eyes on it, because of the subject being a target of vandalism on a regular basis. The point is, in articles like Rosa Parks, what may seem like POV to some people will have been verified and scrutinized to the nth degree by many many Wikipedians over many years of editing. Not that you will not find POV edits, but ALL GOOD Wikipedians have to be vigilant against them. This is why we rely on WP:CITE so heavily.

4. English is a second, third or even fourth language to some editors. Unfortunately, some editors seem to forget that Wikipedia is international in its scope and some editors are going to have a bit of trouble. This is a thing I can help you with. Although I may not share the same interest in topics that you do, I would make myself available to you as a copy editor, and I am willing to correct spelling and grammar errors to your edits, before you decide to hit the "Save Page" button. I suggest when and if you want to try a new article you frame it as a "Draft" in the sandbox space, save and then send a link to it to me if you would like some one else's eyes on it before you "finish" it to the point where you could call it "A Wikipedia Article"

I think this is a good start in our dialogue, and I am glad you took me up on my offer. I am here to help. For continuity, please respond in this space. I will see your reply on my Watchlist. Regards, Hamster Sandwich (talk) 19:33, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Article Hanan Tarq must be renamed

[edit]

Dear Hamster Sandwich, I saw name error in the actress Hanan Tarq, that must be moved at "Hanan Tariq" (this is her real name) according to sources; the editor mistakenly left it. I cannot move manually because my device hasn't option to move. Can you move this article please? Thanks. Video game task (talk) 06:19, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and good morning VGT! Wherever in the world you are, it was 1:19 in the morning you sent this message... I will look at these when I return from work today, so please be patient. I do not have Page mover functions, so I will either think of an alternative plan, or ultimately may help you to form the argument to move the page as you suggest. Patience is one of the major virtues here and IRL. Regards, Hamster Sandwich (talk) 12:54, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Creating new article

[edit]

Hello Hamster Sandwich, I'm now creating a new video game article in draft form titled Raging Thunder 2. As you mention that I could link a new article to you for assistance, Draft:Raging Thunder 2. Can you lend a help for this newly created article please? Video game task (talk) 11:28, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! You did a lot of work there today! VERY GOOD! I just did a copy edit, and I hope you can look at the diffs to see what changes I made exactly. I made no addition of facts, nor did I remove anything that takes away from it either. Just changing the sentence structure, and minor punctuation and spelling. Now we have to get the proper inline citations, as this was the only issue the reviewer had. With good citations, you will have another article in Wikipedia!
As to your earlier question about a page move/ merge, I will have to research the topic and the information out there about this person before I know what direction to go. Please be patient on that issue. Also, if it is very very important, on Wikipedia there is always someone else that is capable of taking drastic and bold measures. I am more cautious with other peoples work perhaps.
Please leave our conversation on this page. Other people may be interested in our work together, and I want to keep our conversations in one place. Best regards, Hamster Sandwich (talk) 20:41, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
VGT if you remove the download link and add the Metacritic link as reviewer suggests in their post to you, I think we can resubmit for inclusion. Hamster Sandwich (talk) 21:48, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I see the Metacritc link and data there now... I'm not sure about which one is the download link that the reviewer wanted removed, but once that is done, I think you can re-submit the article. Good luck! Hamster Sandwich (talk) 01:32, 13 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
More than a little disappointed with the message below. Too bad you used your talent the wrong way VGT. Hamster Sandwich (talk) 04:48, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Raging Thunder 2 app store Icon.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Raging Thunder 2 app store Icon.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 19:27, 13 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't remove {{Di-orphaned fair use}} from files like File:Raging Thunder 2 app store Icon.jpg when the file is still an orphan. Non-free files can only be used in articles per WP:NFCC#9 and any non-free file not being used in at least one article as required by WP:NFCC#7 is an orphan and subject to speedy deletion per WP:F5. Removing the template will not stop the file from being orphaned; the only way to do that is to find a use for the file in at least one article which complies with WP:NFCCP. If you're worried about the file being deleted, don't. Deleted files are not gone forever and they can be restored per WP:REFUND at a latter date as needed once the problem(s) which lead to the file's deletion have been resolved. -- Marchjuly (talk) 09:31, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
