Your Peter Capaldi referencing/punctuation edits
[edit]Welcome to editing Wikipedia! I was looking over your various changes within this edit. Thanks for adding all those sources. One thing I noticed is that you were placing reference tags before punctuation. Per Manual of Style: References & punctuation this is incorrect in most cases, the <ref></ref> tags are supposed to go after the punctuation, as in "Peter Capaldi is a great actor.[1]" not "Peter Capaldi is a great actor[1]." Thought you would want to know for future editing and also to give you a chance to fix the appropriate changes yourself at the Peter Capaldi article. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 18:32, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
- Oops, my bad. I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Intyre (talk) 19:01, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 29
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of awards and nominations received by Doctor Who, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Johnny Campbell. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Twelfth Doctor. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Alex|The|Whovian? 00:30, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
- @AlexTheWhovian: As you can see from my last edit on the Twelfth Doctor's page I added the names not on the visual page, I hid them using tag so the references wouldn't be lost. May I ask, why did you delete reference for River Song confirming she's a companion? As I recall, you were in desperate need of a source, and now when you have it you're deleting it. And in addition, why are you suddenly against putting announced companions on the template? You were perfectly fine with it until now. And yet you deleted them without explaning your sudden change of view, and without trying to reach any consensus instead of giving warnings. Intyre (talk) 16:21, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
Victoria
[edit]Please be aware that mathematically adding up the viewer figures by yourself is considered original research, and hence, cannot be included. You need a reference that explicitly states that the viewer ratings for the episode were 8.00 million. If you understand this, I politely request that you self-revert until you find such a reference. Thanks! Alex|The|Whovian? 08:25, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- [1] It's all here. Select ITV Total channel, which includes ITV, ITV HD and ITV+1 ratings (I found them here), then the week and press View figures and you'll see Victoria on the second position with 8 millions, below the X Factor. Intyre (talk) 09:45, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Sirkablaam. I noticed that in this edit to Twelfth Doctor, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. SirkablaamTalk 21:08, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Twelfth Doctor. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. Hi. I've made a draft article for the first episode of series 10. Feel free to edit it, but only move it into the mainspace when it has enough info and a consensus to move it has been achieved. Thank you. TedEdwards 19:36, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Orphaned non-free image File:Thronebreaker logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Thronebreaker logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:49, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Doctor Who Magazine 469.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Doctor Who Magazine 469.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Can you please provide a source for "Gatiss hinted at a second series" so that we can add it to the page? Thank you. −αΣn=1NDi[n][Σj∈C{i}Fji[n − 1]+Fexti[(n^−1)] 15:56, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- Here it is [2]. I believe the showrunners never really said that it would be a one off series, so I guess we must wait for the official information about whether the series was renewed or not. Intyre (talk) 16:06, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
Doctor Who images
[edit]Your reverts were unexplained. See my previous summary: the image does not conform with WP:NFCC#8 policy. If you disagree, please discuss it on a talk page.
Concerning your question here, you said "care to explain?". I did. Promotional images do not confirm with the WP:NFCC#8 policy. Please note that NFCC is not negotiable; per the very policy, This page documents a Wikipedia policy with legal considerations.
Promotional images have never been alright, and the images should never have been uploaded for infobox usage. As for your last question, I plan to go through and request deletions for almost all of the images if they do not confirm with NFCC; it's easier if I do it a season at a time. For further discussion, see the discussion at User talk:TedEdwards#Infobox images. -- /Alex/21 11:40, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Alex 21: Well you haven't really explained your major file deletes either, simply giving a link on a WP policy so no one can say a word to you isn't enough in my opinion. I've read this discussion and the one above it and I'm backing every point Templeowls17 made. You say the image does not conform with the policy and I'm saying how exactly? There needs to be a proper discussion about this topic with other users because you're being subjective, deleting some images and not others on a whim. How do you determine which ones should be left? If an image doesn't show an iconic scene then it shoulnd't be there, sorry but that's a bit dumb. Because film posters don't do it, so let's go and delete them all, shall we? Intyre (talk) 18:24, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- My reason is WP:NFCC#8. The image does not conform with the policy. I go into more detail about it at User talk:Sebastian James#Face the Raven. A discussion would be needed to keep policy-violating images, not to delete them; it doesn't matter if it's "dumb", it's legal policy. All the best. -- /Alex/21 22:19, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Lazy reverts
[edit]Your recent reverts to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are lazy. Whether or not you believe the reverts to be correct is beside the point. If you wish to remove a section of text then you must ensure that it does not negatively impact the article. Simply hitting "undo" is not good enough, you must ensure that the remaining text makes sense, includes links which you will have deleted and that it continues to read seamlessly. If you cannot manage this then do not make edits. – Dyolf87 (talk) 13:01, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- Dude, chill out. There was a hidden note in the cast section concerning the members of main cast which was deleted. I went and added a new note with a link which you apparently ignored. And you call it lazy? There are 23 members of the starring cast and Peter Mullan isn't one of them. My source? Official website (meet the cast section is right at the top) + 2 sets of character posters (assets->key art). Anyone who isn't featured there should be considered supporting/guest cast. You on the other hand haven't provided a source on why this actor should be listed as a part of the starring cast, but you keep reverting my edits. You won't find such a source because the status of cast members is determined by showrunners/production company and they haven't listed him as such, they are promoting those 23. Vicquemare (talk) 18:41, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- I didn't add him, I merely re-ordered the cast list. Peter Mullan was added afterwards, but not by me. Irrespective of "wHo Is ThE sTaRrInG cAsT" or not, you simply deleted a chunk of text without making further clean-up edits. Edit all you want, I opposed only your poor house-keeping and it's no one else's job to do it for you. – Dyolf87 (talk) 20:58, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- I can say the same thing about your edits, you deleted hidden notes placed for editors while you were re-ordering the cast list, so I had to go and re-add it, I didn't just go and revert all of your work while saying "now do it right or don't do it at all". You could've done the same instead of reverting and putting back the wrong info in the article (that was the issue) if you were so butthurt about a couple of missing brackets. If you see something is wrong just correct it without trying to patronize people. Because unsourced information impacts the article far more negatively, while two words without brackets (both of which are still linked further) won't strip it of the sense. Cheers Vicquemare (talk) 22:00, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
