A tag has been placed on Desk-Trainer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. The Kinslayer 09:13, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. An article that you have been involved in editing, Desk-Trainer, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Desk-Trainer. Thank you. Ronz (talk) 02:21, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

desk-trainer.com, etc

[edit]

I've corrected my mistake above, where I gave you a warning about general vandalism when instead I meant to give you a further warning about vandalism through spamming (a uw-v2 warning where I meant a uw-s2 warning).

You've repeatedly added links to three websites all related to desk-trainer, even after you've been given warnings, and after your previous edits have been removed as spam. I strongly encourage you to read carefully WP:EL, WP:SPAM, and WP:NOT#LINKS.

Yes, there may be other articles and links that are problematic, but they should be dealt with by trying to improve them, rather than using their existence to justify more of the same or worse. --Ronz (talk) 17:26, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Hi,

Ronz may have overreacted in his response to your edits, in that you appear to be a new user. Please review some of the links above to help you familiarize yourself with wiki policy and guidelines. Generally speaking articles need to contain text from reliable sources, that is newpapers, magazines, scientific journals, scholarly books etc ... Articles made exclusively from self-promotional sites are not acceptable on wikipedia. That is why the article was deleted. If there was research published in a reliable source on these exercises that it would be encouraged to add links and perhaps create a page for the topic. Generally, the types of mistakes you are making are unacceptable from an experienced user, but totally understandable from a new user and are generally met with a polite welcome and some introductory information to introduced you to editing on wikipedia. Welcome, and we hope you decide to contribute. Anthon01 (talk) 15:56, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anthon01 is mistaken. Kinslayer gave you a warning about your creation of Desk-Trainer, especially pointing out WP:SPAM. I gave you further warning about your addition of links to wikipedia articles, which were again violations of WP:SPAM. If you like, this can be brought before other editors that have far more experience with such situations than I have. --Ronz (talk) 19:29, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize if your early experiences at wiki have been a bit confusing. Please consider looking through the items in the above welcome section. Also take a look at the WP:BITE. This will explain how mistakes by new users like yourself, are to be handled and why. Please feel free to contact me at my user page, Anthon01, if you have any questions or comments. Thanks, and happy editing. Anthon01 (talk) 21:24, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please notice that Anthon01 is ignoring my offer to take this to an appropriate forum. WP:BITE is a red herring he's throwing you instead, that will only confuse you if you aren't already by his remarks. The warnings you have been given are written specifically for new editors. --Ronz (talk) 00:01, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, welcome to Wikipedia, Vfrken. Now, allow me to explain why the page you created was deleted and the links you have added have since been removed. While I can certainly tell your intentions were to ultimately construct the encyclopedia, it is important that we ensure that Wikipedia is not used for promotional purposes - the links you have added and the article you created were aimed at informing readers of these websites, which is unfortunately considered promotion and will be removed. Also, when you make a contribution to an article, it is important that it is spoken from a neutral point of view, which means it isn't biased toward a particular belief or idea.

Ronz has mistakenly given you a uw-v2 template, which is the template given to vandals. He has since fixed this mistake and given you a uw-s2 template, which is given to people who mistakenly promote a product or service on Wikipedia. Also, Anthon01 has given you a welcome template, and is trying to make you feel welcome. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We do hope you stay and get to like Wikipedia - editing articles can sure be addictive. ;) Maser (Talk!) 06:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
