Chicago
[edit]Your recent additions to Chicago do not appear to be properly sourced and they appear to be trivia. See, WP:SOURCES. They may also be original research or synthesis. WP:SYN. The Chicago article is very long, so trivia is a real burden. Several editors have taken note that you keep adding this information (which is being removed by other editors) without a direct source and without explaining your edits. The substance of your edit that Chicago may be the largest inland city (that is not a capital), even if true, adds very little to the article. Besides Chicago is the county seat of Cook County so international readers may understand that to be the capital of a region, and there are allot of large cities in Asia that are not on the coast. Finally, "major coast" is ambiguous and introduces point of view. The Great Lakes certainly may be considered a "major coast." Alanscottwalker (talk) 17:50, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hi! I invite you to discuss your proposed changes. Alan started a talk page section Talk:Chicago#Unsourced_trivia_in_intro_about_Chicago_being_inland. Click and take a look. You and other editors can discuss your ideas, and see what happens from there. I notice you are new to Wikipedia. This "discussion" stuff is a big deal. Every article has an associated "talk page" which you can reach by clicking the "Discussion" tag at the top of the article. You will find other discussions that you can participate in, or you can start discussions of your own (just click "New Section"). You may find editing here and interacting with other editors to be interesting and pleasant. Good luck! Jd2718 (talk) 00:23, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Chicago
[edit]Please take the time to discuss your edits to the Chicago article with other editors. If you click here you will see what concerns have been raised about them. Repeatedly reinserting your edit without any attempt to reach consensus is called edit warring and may end with you being blocked from editing. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 01:41, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
