Venice Commission

[edit]

Hi there- on Member states of the Venice Commission you updated the number of members to 61. Yet, on Venice Commission you wrote that there are 60 members. Which is the correct number? Archives908 (talk) 19:12, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There are 61 members states.

Then you should fix your mistakes! Because both articles say 60. Archives908 (talk) 18:22, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see you fixed Venice Commission artcile- but what about Member states of the Venice Commission? It still says "60 members". Archives908 (talk) 13:57, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am trying to add the 15th non-European member Costa Rica who joined in 2016 which was missing from your list.
But you template is too complicated. Could you please help? thank you! perhaps you also could have them listed either in alphabetical or chronological order, or by region? VenCom Wiki (talk) 14:04, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I added Costa Rica. Is everything correct now? Archives908 (talk) 14:07, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What year did the United States join? It is missing in the article. Archives908 (talk) 14:09, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We have un updating map here: Venice Commission :: Council of Europe (coe.int) VenCom Wiki (talk) 14:18, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added the year. Unfortunately, I am not experienced with editing maps on Wikipedia. However, you can leave a comment on the talk page of the existing map requesting other editors to help update the current map. Archives908 (talk) 14:28, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Venice Commission, and I noticed that your username, "VenCom Wiki", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. user:A smart kittenmeow 14:34, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,
I am working at the Venice Commission and was told to rectify outdated information regarding our Commission.
I am not promioting it, I am just rectifying the text.
I am very busy and have no time to change the username. I hope I can continue using VenCom Wiki.
Thank you for your understanding. VenCom Wiki (talk) 15:20, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @VenCom Wiki, thanks for your response.
Even if you aren’t promoting the Venice Commission in your edits, I would still strongly recommend that - rather than make the edits yourself - you instead make an edit request on the article’s talk page by using the {{Edit COI}} template.
Secondly, I would repeat my request that you request a change of username, as in my opinion your current username does not seem to meet the username policy; due to the fact that it implies shared use/represents the name of the Venice Commission. As mentioned above, you can do this by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest.
Finally, if you are being paid to edit Wikipedia (as it sounds like you may be), you are required to disclose this - you may wish to refer to our page on paid editing for more information on this. (You may also wish to read our guideline on editing with a conflict of interest.)
I realise that this may come across as a lot, but these are policies and guidelines that are in place on Wikipedia, and - in the nicest possible way - you being busy is not a permissible reason not to comply with them.
If you have any queries relating to anything I’ve said, then please let me know - you can ping me by typing {{u|A smart kitten}}.
All the best, user:A smart kittenmeow 15:47, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
