Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Veeramuthu Ashokkumar, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that in your first edits, at Help:What links here, you appear to be writing about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

I have restored the page you edited, but if you want to use your content from it, don't hesitate to ask me and I will copy it to your user page.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! -- John of Reading (talk) 19:29, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage deleted

[edit]

I'm sorry, but I had to delete your userpage because it was essentially being used as a place to host your CV. Wikipedia is not like not like LinkedIn in that it is not a place to post resumes, CVs, or similar content. Userpages can contain some information about the user, but only as it pertains to editing on Wikipedia. If you are looking to have an article written about yourself then you need to create an article via the WP:AfC process, however I must let you know that it is extremely discouraged for people to write articles about themselves. Wikipedia also cannot accept copyrighted text or anything that would come across as self-promotion, so you would have to re-write the article to fit the style and editing guidelines on Wikipedia.
