I've listed this at Wikipedia:Third opinion. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 22:59, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain the title of the textbook? AQA GCSE English Literature a Short Stories Pre-1914 Poetry "a" is meaningless. And why is it pre-1914 poetry, when the poem you're writing about is not pre-1914? Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 17:26, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't add the information but I think the A should be a capital A to refer to an exam board specification

A tag has been placed on Abertay University Students' Union requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. When you revert a fellow editor it's customary to provide an explanation, particularly when they've had the courtesy to leave one.

Looking forward to your belated explanation, cheers, TFOWRThis flag once was red 11:36, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assume good faith. This could have been avoided if you'd edited rather than reverting. Thanks for providing a cited explanation: next time do it instead of reverting. Cheers, TFOWRThis flag once was red 11:42, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not in the history of British politics it isn't. A street protest against Islamism, which allows other non-white immigrants and religious groups to attend isn't neutrally "far" anything. The group seems to be linked to the English Democrats, which aren't part of the radical nationalist current. - Yorkshirian (talk) 09:32, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pedersen

[edit]

Francium12, you seem to have suggested that Pedersen was born in Walsall, Denmark. I don't think Walsall is in Denmark... Ghmyrtle (talk) 07:40, 18 September 2009 (UTC) PS- give my regards to my alma mater.. Ghmyrtle (talk)[reply]

Aha! For some reason, some automatic online translation tools, which I guess you used, translate Storvorde into Walsall. Bizarre. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:58, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Before you go, what discipline are you taking? Hope you will be getting a chance to expand your knowledge (and ours) of the Poor Laws. Best. RashersTierney (talk) 11:00, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be starting Politics at Nottingham University. The subscriptions to thinks like JSTOR will certainly help re Poor Law and referencing Wiki articles in general. Scottish Poor Laws will be my next big undertaking and I think something like Poor Law in popular culture could be a standalone article one day. Should be back on in a few weeks.  Francium12  11:55, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replied to your post at my talk page. If the template is larger than the article, one (or both) should be deleted if the story cannot be expanded to demonstrate notability (per WP:N, WP:V, and WP:RS). Read my edit comments - they should help, too. 147.70.242.54 (talk) 23:36, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Other Press requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. I think it would be easier for people to compare and contrast the subtle differences between the isms such as Anti-foundationalism in international relations theory if you were to discuss all of them within international relations theory and convert your stubs to redirects. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:57, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of National Grammar Schools Association‎

[edit]

The article National Grammar Schools Association‎ has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Scribble Monkey (talk) 08:30, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine if you believe that the article can be expanded sufficiently. - Scribble Monkey (talk) 11:17, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:SU-LOGO.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:SU-LOGO.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 19:14, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, Grays

[edit]

I've been away from Wikipedia for a little while (since I have been very busy) and have returned to find the article for St Thomas' School deleted. You posted a message on my talk page just over a month ago and the article is already gone, and I can't even find a page where people discussed the deletion. What happened? and is there any way to get the article back whilst people actually debate why they want it kept/gone?

If you thought it was an unnecessary article then you could have just nominated it for deletion, so why choose speedy deletion? It seems rather unfair since I, as well as other people, spent a long time on it.

Tips?

[edit]

No. But I think there is a general point that what is described as "far right" is one country can be seen as "centrist" in a different country, and vice versa. There is another point as well - that what is seen as dangerous and personally threatening to those living within a country, can simply be seen as academically interesting to those living in a different country. There are no absolutes in world politics. Ghmyrtle (talk) 23:34, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2010 British Grand Prix

[edit]

The nature of the news surrounding the 2010 BGP centre about whether the event will be cancelled or not. In the event that it is cancelled, this articled would quickly receive an AfD. So in essence, the justification for expanding the article is so that it could then subsequently be deleted.

Additionally, WP:NOTNEWS seems to specifically cover this sort of speculations. This information should properly exist on the 2010 Formula One season and on British Grand Prix with an article for the 2010 British Grand Prix being created perhaps in the month's build-up to the race.

Really, the entire article is duplication of information on the above two articles, yet more reason to change it back to a redirect.
