Speedy deletion of LaVeyan Separatist

[edit]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages such as LaVeyan Separatist, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

I'd love to use the sandbox feature except, somebody already got it speedy deleted for something that.... Well honestly I have no clue since I thought it was supposed to be my work space where I THOUGHT I could make all my mistakes before publication. The logic of you Wikipedia guys is worthy of study that should be posted in neurology right here on Wikipedia. 😉

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. The Llama! (talk) 22:36, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of LaVeyan Separatist

[edit]

A tag has been placed on LaVeyan Separatist requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Please don't use interviews or any band's own statements for referencing styles and genres as you did there with Fleshgod Apocalypse. For this type of referencing we need reliable and independent sources like album reviews or feature articles from magazines or notable websites. Let me get this straight, stating a direct quote from a band is not credible but, if it's filtered through an independent and notable source, (note the absence of the word "credible" in your erroneously corrective statement) then it's permissible on Wikipedia. By that logic, I can start the bat boy page, a story published by Weekly world news, which is both independent and notable, and type an entry as if it were fact, provided I footnote the issue?! This is why Wikipedia needs donations. When you throw credibility out the window in favor of notoriety, you become fake news.

You just convinced me to stop using Wikipedia instead of donating to their survival. Thank you. I almost wasted 25 bucks.

P.S. there actually already is a bat boy page. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bat_Boy_(character)

A tag has been placed on User:Skorpyun/Sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
