Orphaned non-free media (File:VAMSLogo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:VAMSLogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 20:00, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, Vamsintl. This is a note to let you know that I've taken down an image from your subpage Visual Arts and Music for Society International. Under the non-free content criteria, non-free/fair use images are not allowed to be used outside of articles, even in article drafts. Sorry for the inconvenience! Non-free files in your user space

[edit]

Hey there Vamsintl, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:Vamsintl/Visual Arts and Music for Society International. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

  • See a log of files removed today here.

Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:01, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Vamsintl/Visual Arts and Music for Society International, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Request reason:

Hello. I'm a new Wikipedia user and was unaware of this policy. I'm more than happy to change my username but need to have my account unblocked to do so. Could you please unblock me so that I can change my name to something less controversial? Thanks so much!Vamsintl (talk) 03:35, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

We also have a policy regarding conflict of interest, which you have fallen afoul of as well. What would you edit other than articles related to VAMS, if we unblocked you? Daniel Case (talk) 13:16, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
