[edit]Hello, I'm Technopat. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Kate Winslet, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Technopat (talk) 21:53, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Whitewashing at Kate Winslet
[edit]Like User:Technopat, I see problems with your editing. You are treating Wikipedia as if it was your personal website. You are treating the hard work of many other editors carelessly and disrespectfully. Your "trash" was important enough for RS to write about it and editors to include it. Undoing such long-standing content is a touchy matter.
I have reverted your massive whitewashing of negative info. That tends toward making the article into a positive hagiography, and that's not right. We tell the positive and negative here. Your edits disturb the balance required by NPOV and also violate WP:Preserve. Content must be properly sourced, unlike some of your additions. Your deletions are of content based on RS, so that itself is a red flag. Stop doing this or your stay here will be very short. If you want to make such changes, it's best to discuss them on the talk page first and get a consensus. Try to focus on adding properly-sourced content. That is usually seen as a positive thing. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 03:45, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
Other articles you have abused
[edit]Massive removals of content added by many other editors, who obviously do not share your opinion of what they have added. You literally undid years of work by others. See previous section for the things to keep in mind.
Two things to keep in mind:
- Additions are touchy, but at least you are not abusing other editors' contributions. If properly sourced, you have a good chance of improving the encyclopedia.
- Deletions are doubly touchy, and you need to stop doing that until you have much more experience here. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 03:59, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
Be more careful. You will now be watched more carefully for evidence of any abuse. You are one newbie among many other editors, and you need to learn to work with others. You don't own articles. Treat them respectfully. I hope you are more careful in the future. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 03:59, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
Warning
[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. — Film Enthusiast✉ 16:20, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
Indeed! It seems that this editor is not familiar with our rules here. They should take a cue from how experienced editors are reacting to their disruptive edits. Their edit warring is not going to work. Maybe an indefinite block is needed as they are obviously engaged in battlefield behavior. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 19:17, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

[edit]You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Mare of Easttown. Technopat (talk) 21:08, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
