Hi MER-C, I was hoping you could clarify two things for me. The first of which is about the location of my draft. Right now, I am working on my article on 0xBitcoin under the user:Userbrn page. Should I be working on it on the draft page or can I continue working here? The second question I had was regarding the conflict of interest. I would say that I am a community member (active in the Discord channel and subreddit) and I also hold the cryptocurrency personally. Does my involvement as a community member warrant disclosure? The reason I ask is because 0xBitcoin is entirely community based, having no core development team unlike the vast majority of ERC20 tokens on Ethereum; it is a decentralized project that anyway can build on top of without permission. I obviously am aware that holding the cryptocurrency warrants a disclosure. Let me know how you suggest I proceed! Userbrn (talk) 19:10, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I bring this up because I am not confident that by the time my article is finished it will be considered noteworthy, so I would like the have the option to keep it as a work in progress and communicate with community editors over the next few months to determine if and when it achieves that status. I'm hoping to respect the special guidelines on cryptocurrencies and avoid the impression that I'm pushing something through as an advertisement. Userbrn (talk) 19:18, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The holding of cryptocurrencies is the key one to disclose and should be enough, unless you're also being paid to market the token. You can have as much time to develop the draft, but given the very low tolerance to new cryptocurrency articles I cannot guarantee that it won't get deleted. The probability of deletion rises significantly if submitted. You prove noteworthiness by showing that reputable publications have significantly covered this token on its own merits (such as full articles in mainstream financial media). Yes: they are publicly visible, though very much out of the way. I delete many unsubmitted, very promotional drafts every day. The safest place is, of course, keeping a local copy on your computer. MER-C 08:50, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
