Replaceable fair use File:Nizami statue in Rome.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Nizami statue in Rome.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 15:57, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ask for permission for the photo "Karabakh style carpet from Shusha"

[edit]

Hello,

I am writing on behalf of the Karabakh Foundation, a 501(c)3 cultural charity foundation that preserves and disseminates the cultural heritage and traditions of Azerbaijan, the Caucasus area, and the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. I would like to request permission to use the image found on http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Karabakh_carpet in an educational capacity. Specifically we request to use the image in an online educational exhibition entitled, Azerbaijan Artifacts, which presents information about coins, stamps, rug, architecture, and other artifacts related to Azerbaijan. In addition we would like permission to use the image in publicity related to the exhibition, on www.KarabakhFoundation.org, and eventually perhaps in a physical exhibition. I am interested in using the image from http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Karabakh-carpet-malibayli-1813.jpg. This image would perfectly help us convey the importance of Azerbaijani Art. If this is acceptable, please let me know how to properly cite (by name, include website also, etc). If possible, I would also appreciate if you could send me high resolution copy of the image. Thank you for your help. Please contact me: dygw11@gwmail.gwu.edu

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Oriental carpets in Renaissance painting may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 12:25, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Hi, Urek Meniashvili. Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Our intro page contains a lot of helpful material for new users—please check it out! If you need help, visit Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

As a quick suggestion, it would be appreciated if you could leave edit comments, particularly when you are making quite a few edits (as per the Azerbaijan page. I know you were just reshuffling images a little, but it is best to explain your reasoning as you go. Cheers! Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:40, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Azerbaijan

[edit]

Azerbaijan has nothing to do with the Caucasian Albanians, Medes, Hereti or Atropatene. Take it to the talk page and state why it should be added when neither has anything to do with Azerbaijan's history. If you revert my edits again without giving a reason, then i will report you. Dear Urek Meniashvili, I might like to use your photo at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%C2%AB%D0%93%D1%8F%D0%BD%D0%B4%D0%B6%D0%B0%C2%BB_1.jpg?uselang=de for a scholarly article. Could you tell me whether you find that OK? By the way, is this carpet perhaps in the Carpet Museum in Baku? Best wishes, Agnes — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.2.49.223 (talk) 15:25, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Nizami Ganjavi statue in Baku.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 05:18, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
