Image copyright problem with Image:Guy Butler.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Guy Butler.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 12:24, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:Guy_Butler.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Guy_Butler.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:45, 17 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih (talk) 01:45, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Urbanmyth139! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 259 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Jos van Immerseel - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File source problem with File:Stephen Watson.JPG
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Stephen Watson.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:41, 11 April 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Musamies (talk) 15:41, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
"Greyton" page
[edit]"Greyton" page | |
Hi there
I'm new to this and couldn't figure out how to just message you. i haven't seen anything you've done yet so I can't really show any appreciation but I wanted to speak to you about your comment of the Greyton page. I "re-did' the page as you suggested ( my first attempt at contributing to Wikipedia! ) and was wondering if you would read and give some suggestions or new comments? Also, if I may ask, how does one create a page from scratch? Any help would be welcome! I love this site and would like to be a bigger contributor! regards robvanvee Robvanvee (talk) 08:29, 8 March 2012 (UTC) |
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. You kicked off a wiki entry on John Hopkins back in 2008. Thank you. The first line is often the hardest.
You included a nice quote, starting "The memorable use of "the pipe". John talks. The pipe empty of tobacco, filled from the tin ...." It resonates reassuringly.
You gave as your source "Address to The Special Cranworth Dinner in honour of John Hopkins given at Middle Temple, London on 4/3/04". It would be nice (well - it would give me a hard to pin down scintilla of satisfaction) to know who it was actually giving that Address to The Special Cranworth Dinner in honour of JH. Someone would, presumably, not be ashamed to acknowledge that the words were his or hers.
Please?
