Welcome again

[edit]

Welcome again. I see you've run into some of the policies of Wikipedia. I personally think the above are legitimate topics but I also know that many Wikipedians are very biased against the appearance of advertising. So while you're getting to know Wikipedia, it may be easier to avoid creating articles in those areas. I've tried to help with some of the articles you're working on and hope you're not discouraged and will stay. Samw 01:54, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Upload: Samw's right, I've seen too many self-promoting articles, and have a harsh attitude toward selling soap in Wikipedia. That said, good intentions count, and so does sincerity, so I don't want to discourage you! Please check the guidelines for article creation; you may want to visit the topic as a daughter of another, related topic. My apologies for being quick to judge. additional user warning about edits made to Terra Choice Environmental Services Inc. removed. here 22:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just went into sandbox as per instructions, there was other stuff on page so I continued, spent 20 minutes typing 3 eco label program descriptions, the US Greenseal, UK program and Tailand program and their links, hit the john 04:48, 15 May 2007 (UTC) symbol and i thought save page, and everything was erased and stuff I did NOT print came up on page. What went on?

I just read what i sent you and this was on page "the john 04:48, 15 May 2007 (UTC)" and I DID NOT PRINT THIS> Please explain what is going on???? I will not be entering data if someone is somehow manipulating what I am typing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terra choice

[edit]

Hey Upload, I added a few words back to Terra Choice Environmental Services Inc. but haven't been able to find any online articles written about the company. Do you have access to any articles written about the company to show that it meets wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for companies? If so, add a note in the article about the source! If not, the company may not yet be appropriate for an article in this encyclopedia. Either way, thanks for your efforts ;). Feel free to drop any questions my way. here 06:36, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this what is required as a source reference? Any help would be appreciated. I only went to a red line on a page and sourced who they were. Thanks 21:10, 15 May 2007 (UTC)john [1] It appears this global company recognizes the company [2] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Upload stuff (talk • contribs) 21:10, May 15, 2007 (UTC)

The two sources you mentioned are not really about TerraChoice, but rather 1) Canada Endorses Formaldehyde-Free Fiber Glass Insulation and 2) Environmental Choice Program - EcoLogo Marketing. There seems to be a great deal of overlap between the Environmental Choice Program, the EcoLogo brand, and TerraChoice consulting -- so much so, that I expect one or two of these potential articles would be better as a redirect rather than a full article. If you are still confused about what a source is, take another read through Wikipedia:Reliable sources. here 21:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Search question

[edit]

I am sorry you are havign problems. One way to gt help is to post at the help desk. Another is to put your question on your own talk page, followed by {{helpme}} That will bring your page to the attention of one of many people who watch for the special helpme tag.

Wikipedia's built-in search in notoriously weak -- that is really not what we do best. So let the people who do it well do the job. By clicking on Google search of wikipedia you can use the google search engine to search the wikipedia site.

I hope this is helpful to you. A very comprehensive index to useful wikipeia pages and functions can be found at Editor's Index to Wikipedia. DES (talk) 21:30, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sign your posts

[edit]

Hey John, please don't feel like you are causing trouble -- you aren't! ;). I've noticed you are adding a date to your talk-page posts, but signing simply 'john' somewhere around the date. To help us respond personally to your posts, try signing using four tildes like ~~~~, which will be replaced with the time, date, and a link to your user page! More details may be found at Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines.

There is rarely a need to contact an administrator, as you have been trying to do.. if you need help or are confused, try asking a question on a talk page or perhaps the help desk again. here 22:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox

[edit]

You were asking about Wikipedia:Sandbox? It gets automatically cleared so feel free to make whatever test writing you want to there. Do you have a specific question we can help with? Samw 03:29, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again upload stuff, there are no real instructions for the sandbox. A Sandbox is a place where you can make practice edits, nothing more. I would recommend going through the general tutorial, found at Wikipedia:Introduction. This tutorial goes over many of the questions you are having, including how to sign your name with four tildes.. Good luck. here 17:56, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 10:43, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
