I've reverted your edit to Wikipedia:Resolving_disputes, since you removed an entire section without any explanation, even an edit summary.

BTW, regarding your troubles with the site: "Anyone can edit" means exactly what it says - "anyone can edit" ; not "anyone can add anything and it will be kept forever". You added something that was judged (by someone else) to be not appropriate for the encyclopedia, someone else agreed, and so it was removed. That's what editing means. The notice that appears when you start a new page is quite clear: "If you are a newcomer, please first read the introduction, tutorial, and guide to creating your first article to ensure the quality of the new page." Did you read them? If not, we still let you create the page, but you ought not be surprised that someone edits it afterwards. You don't need an account to read, and you certainly don't need your old account back to correct typos. However, you seem unwilling to behave calmly with other people on the site, so you will probably find it pointlessly frustrating to watch changes, or discuss them - in that case, typo corrections are probably your best bet if you still wish to contribute. I never expected my edits to last forever. I fully accept that others can edit my edits. Similarly there should be no problem with my further editing those pages. But there was. I was banned. Proving that the administration can do whatever it likes and the rest of us just have to put up with it. However, the front page does not say "the encyclopedia anybody can edit 'subject to reading myriad rule pages'. The words "please first read the introduction" upon starting a new page is up for interpretation. I assumed the operative word there to be 'please' which infers a choice in the matter. It comes across not as an order but rather a request. Not having much time available I therefore chose to ignore it. I don't need my old account back to correct typo's but I resent the fact that my user page abusively labels me a Vandal and I would therefore like control returned to me so I can edit out this libelous accusation posted by some administrator who I completely disagree with over this matter. I am perfectly willing to behave calmly with others at the site and I find such a claim on your part insulting. In every case where I have acted out of accordance with your volumes of legislation it is because I was not aware of these rules. Where I have abused others it was always in response to personal attacks that they initiated. I find the term Vandal in particular a highly charged insult. Vandals are miscreants who spray paint trains and smash public toilets. As an ex-security guard and customs officer I regard such name calling as petty and pathetic. I have now read enough of your rule pages to have absorbed the basic outline of your dictatorship's fundamental guidelines. Please unban all of my usernames including UniverseToday and I promise to turn the other cheek to all further insults from your staff. I am perfectly willing to forgive their reprehensible behaviour if this small request is taken care of. Universedaily 00:23, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your past bans

[edit]

I read your complaint on the Community Portal, and looked into your history to see what happened. From what I can tell, it looks like you were User:203.56.233.122, and User:UniverseToday in the past.

It is obvious that many of your minor edits were perfectly fine and helpful. Other edits could be seen as being either productive or not. There are some edits, though, that I don't understand how they aren't vandalism. If you could explain in response, that might be helpful. For example, there were several pages that you erased completely, then replaced with your website URL, such as:

Wikipedia

Australia

Samuel Alito

Sandra Day O'Connor

Also, you changed the links on some pages to go to your site, despite the text saying otherwise. Such as here:

Schapelle Corby

Brisbane

Another significant problem were attacks on other userpages, although I could see how they were causing you a lot of grief.

These edits all appear to be severe cases of vandalism. However, it is possible that there is a misunderstanding here. If you could explain, it might be helpful.

I've been trying to explain for ages but how could I when I WAS BANNED and couldn't post anything! The term Vandalism is very insulting. I did not realise that posting links was illegal or that some users had godlike dictatorial powers over us mere mortals. Some of your administrators are abusing their powers and not all of this "vandalism" is mine. I am using the Public Library of Brisbane Australia. Therefore hundreds of people share the same IP each day. I have already talked this dispute over with another admin who agreed I could return. I won't post any more links since it seems to make you people froth at the mouth for no discernible reason. Remove all the external links sections from all of the pages if it stresses you that much. Everybody does it. I know atleast 10 major editors of online magazines who do it on a regular basis. The other day I was banned by a new Admin called Antandrus for merely posting factual information on the Israel page. All easily checkable in any history volume covering that era and part of the middle east. His excuse was that I had a "long, long history of vandalism". Which was no excuse at all. Quite frankly the way admins walk all over newcomers here sickens me. Instead of being helpful you insult and ban us. Shame on all of you. Wikipedia boasts that anyone can edit it and you invite visitors to be bold and change any page without worrying as it can be changed back easily. Then you insult us by saying we are Vandals. Make up your minds. I'm still banned by this guy Antandrus now and this is the first page I could find that I can post at. Please unban all of my usernames. UniverseToday and Universedaily for example. I won't post at the Israel page since it is obvious you don't care about it being truthful. Whatever you want. Just stop calling me a vandal.Universedaily 00:10, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who Sandra Day O'Connor? I've certainly never visited that page. This is a public library. I've never visited Samuel Alito either? Do you realise how many people use this terminal in any given week? Most of them don't even bother logging out. I never do.

I'm not going to read all this nonsense you've written here. I think I'll just go to a different library. bye.
