Information icon Hello, I'm Unit388. An edit that you recently made to usertalk:Unit388 seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you want more practice editing, please use the sandbox. A tag has been placed on Template:Db-pre requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an unambiguous misrepresentation of established policy.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. New Page Patrol

[edit]

Hi. Please don't patrol new pages. There is first a lot to be learned at WP:NPP, WP:DELETION, and WP:CSD that you don't know about. Patrolling new pages needs high amount of experience which unfortunately you don't have (yet). You have joined Wikipedia just 3 days ago and has made only ~200 edits of which an huge amount is to your user subpages. Instead, when you have made at least 200 edits to mainspace you can consider enrolling at the WP:CVUA and learning how you can help us fight vandalism. But now, please don't patrol new pages. On a different but related note: I have marked Template:db-pre, which you created, for deletion. It appears like you have tagged this template on many new pages. Please don't tag this template anywhere in the articlespace. You have to get WP:CONSENSUS first before using it. Thank you for understanding. Feel free to contact me or Kudpung (an experienced new page patroller) if you have any question related to new page patrolling. Happy editing! Jim Carter 06:07, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion policy

[edit]

I have deleted your deletion template again which you unilaterlally created against established policy and procedure. Please note that if you insist on not proposing new policy through normal collaborative procedure, the next discussion will be at WP:ANI which may or may not result in sanctions being imposed on your participation on Wikipedia.--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:00, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In order to avoid drawing the ire of some of our more grumpy administrators it best to develop such template drafts in your userspace such as your sandbox.
While I think Kudpung has been unnecessarily hostile in his reaction he does have a point that generally discussion is needed before implementing a new practice in the article space. Articles are what we show to the public and we like to keep our testing and proposals in the meta space.
This idea does have merit. If you want to proceed I recommend drafting the template in userspace and proposing it at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals) or Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion. Chillum 07:06, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also per this post by you I have deleted User:Unit388/twinklespeedy.js per CSD#G7. If you would like the content of this page I can e-mail it to you. Chillum 07:22, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

User:Unit388/twinklespeedy.js, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Unit388/twinklespeedy.js and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Unit388/twinklespeedy.js during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:05, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Signing your posts

[edit]

Hi, A frequent new user error is that they forget to sign their posts. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:43, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks, I installed an auto sign script but it must not be working. Unit388 (talk) 07:46, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

NPP review structure

[edit]

Hi. A good faith proposal but without sufficient research and consideration for the extensive work on such lines that is alreay being done by teams of experienced users. Please see: User talk:Jim Carter#Proposed better NPP system. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:42, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

February 2015

[edit]

Information iconIt appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. I came here to say exactly the same thing, looks like Kudpung beat me to it. There is no possible way that "Show your support" could be considered a neutral message. I would also suggest you follow his advice in the above section and slow down on making new proposals that do not seem well thought out and where you have not demonstrated a persistent need for what you propose. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lync Aronson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Executive Committee. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion declined: Yobo (band)

[edit]

Hello Unit388. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Yobo (band), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: opening for a notable band indicates significance, use WP:AFD instead if the band is non-notable. Thank you. SoWhy 06:58, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Categories on popups.js

[edit]

Hi. Apologies for the geeking but Category:Foo is showing up in the Special:WantedCategories backlog thanks to User:Unit388/popups.js. Per WP:REDNOT you should never have a red link to a category (and in any case the test hierarchy is Category:X1 etc) but in this case I think it's down to Mediawiki parsing the categories in the comment on line 7031. So the problem should go away if you insert a colon in the two instances in that line, changing [[Category to [[:Category. TIA Le Deluge (talk) 11:29, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
