Your GA nomination of Ottoman music
The article Ottoman music you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Ottoman music for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Now this is a cool project, I've never heard of him! I've basically finished Barbad and am now working on Ishaq al-Mawsili—do you know him? There are quite a few medieval Arab musicians who I'd never heard of until I read about him (for instance Ibrahim al-Mawsili, Mansour Zalzal, Ibrahim ibn al-Mahdi and Ziryab). - Unfortunately, I know Ishaq al-Mawsili only to the extent that I know that he existed and was quite influential, to be honest, and I would need to do a lot more research before I can help substantially. Thanks for the kind words for my Nedîm sandbox, though! Uness232 (talk) 18:48, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- No worries! I'm just glad to see someone looking at music topics on Wikipedia that aren't Western classical or 20th-century. My main interests will always lie in the former, I think, though I try to give important figures like Barbad and Ishaq the attention they deserve. I don't think that I ever congratulated you on the Ottoman music GA anyways, amazing work on that! Aza24 (talk) 22:21, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
