A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ages of consent in the United States, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Copy and paste from Ages_of_consent_in_North_America#United_States

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I have explained in talk page of the respective articles. Thanks, Under the table 324 (talk) 11:22, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason to split this article. It is fine the way it is. That's the way it was concieved from the beginning, that's how it's supposed to be. There is no valid reason to create another article. Also the map is wrong. It shows Canada in blue, when it should be green (Canada's AOC is 16). User:86.121.8.166 01:36, 9 February 2009

Canada is green, maybe some problem with your monitor, verify again. As for split, pls reply in talkpage of the concerned article. Regards, Under the table 324 (talk) 03:41, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Under the table 324, until the MAJORITY of the editors say they are OK with this spinout, please refrain from doing this. You can not take this decision on your own, you're not the only editor here. User:86.121.8.166 11:11, 9 February 2009
This isn't exactly an issue of majority, because it isn't a vote, but at the same time, consensus (ongoing discussion) is needed prior to sweeping changes. I agree with the anonymous IP that needs to register NOW that you're accelerating this a bit too quickly. Slow it up and state your case in talk pages beforehand and this could end up happening, because the US does have the most info right now and it could end up being the first that gets its own article. But please understand the need to regulate, and the benefit of collecting these on the basis of continent, because Canada definately has too little info to need it's own. Although there used to be more I thought... I'm investigating what I think is the deletion of certain information so I'm not sure at this point. Tyciol (talk) 06:55, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
