Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! -- samtar talk or stalk 11:08, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RD Humanities

[edit]

I have removed your Trump question. 1. The RDs are NOT for speculation. Read the words at the top pf the page. 2. The question is borderline trolling. Please do not pull this sort of stunt again. --Tagishsimon (talk) 22:38, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your refdesk question future of warfare

[edit]

Cautiously assuming good faith, I added an answer with a link by an expert of sorts. See if you find it helpful. Eliyohub (talk) 16:17, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:33, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

[edit]

Please be advised that Wikipedia is not a discussion forum. You may lose your editing privileges if your only purpose here is to solely post generic questions that are unrelated to Wikipedia. Alex ShihTalk 16:19, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The discussion is about the topic User:Uncle dan is home. Alex ShihTalk 09:58, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:45, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Uncle dan is home (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I have been blocked because my only edits have been asking questions at the Refdesk. What's wrong with that? I haven't been vandalizing Wikipedia. Isn't the whole point of the Refdesk to ask questions and then get references? I've seen one account whose only edits have been asking questions, and it's never been blocked. Now I admit, I asked three questions so far that count as requests for predictions opinions and debate, but I've stopped that. And I swear that I'm not here to troll. Uncle dan is home (talk) 16:38, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

In the future, do you intend to contribute to articles? Or if unblocked would you just ask more questions at the ref desk? PhilKnight (talk) 00:30, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You have asked questions on 21 topics, some of them being repeated or expanded several times. You have made no contributions whatsoever to the encyclopedia. You are blocked for apparently not being here to help build an encyclopedia; in what way is this an incorrect assessment? --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:08, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Anthony and Phil:I don't think that solely asking questions at the Refdesk without making mainspace edits is a valid reason for blocking somebody.Uncle dan is home (talk) 23:59, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Was I blocked for asking too many questions that are inappropriate or because my only edits have been asking questions at the Refdesk? Uncle dan is home (talk) 22:09, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If my reason for being blcoked is because of no mainspace edits then why hasn't this editor Username160611000000 (talk) also been blocked because of no mainspace edits? Uncle dan is home (talk) 16:35, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How can I remove my file upload?

Notice

The file File:My dog who passed away.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

orphaned image, no encyclopedic use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
