User talk:Umiamibiz
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Umiamibiz, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was University of Miami Business School, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms our use and policy on paid editing.
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! — Javert2113 (talk) 18:54, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

April 2018[edit]Your addition to University of Miami Business School has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. — Javert2113 (talk) 19:11, 2 April 2018 (UTC) Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at University of Miami Business School, you may be blocked from editing. — Javert2113 (talk) 19:14, 2 April 2018 (UTC) There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text
{{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 19:21, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Umiamibiz (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: currently trying to update the MBS wiki page. Edits are ongoing and are trying to edit as go. To fix issue, can edit and then paste edits into wiki page. Umiamibiz (talk) 19:57, 2 April 2018 (UTC) Decline reason: I see no willingness to follow Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Until the issues that led to the block have been addressed, you will not be unblocked. Request reason:
I am literally trying to follow all of your requests, if you would please unblock our account, so I may address all of the aforementioned concerns, such as too close paraphrasing, excessive or improper use of possible non-free material, relying too close to references to primary sources, and conflict of interest, which you will find my username request here. {{unblock-spamun|pak317|I am a human, who is just trying to better the Wikipedia world.}}

Decline reason:
In light of the block evasion and socking, please try again in six months. At that time, please address the following.User:Dlohcierekim/decline promo --Dlohcierekim (talk) 09:24, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Look, given your history of abuse, you aren't going to be allowed to write about the University of Miami. I think you simply don't understand that none of your edits were remotely appropriate. It's not a matter of rewording. You've managed to violate so many of our policies, it's just not conceivable to me that you could be unblocked to edit about anything related to the University of Miami. If that's your only goal here, please remove your unblock request. However, if you'd like to write about something else, something for which you do not have a conflict of interest, we might be willing to consider unblocking you. --Yamla (talk) 00:33, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Yamla If I cannot be unblocked, I ask that you please reverse this page back to the original version that it was at before 8:00AM EST this morning, in order for it to not look like a 5-year-old was left unsupervised. Thank you. Umiamibiz (talk) 01:30, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, we cannot remove the foregoing unblock requests, unless @Alexf and Yamla: wish to grant you a boon.--Dlohcierekim (talk) 09:27, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- Remove posted requests? No. They are a matter of public record. If the user did not want them, should not have made them. -- Alexf(talk) 12:44, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
{{Help me}} Hi @Dlohcierekim (talk) Thank you for your kind explanation. Can you please reverse the page back to the version it was yesterday morning, before I started making my edits? Is this possible for you to do?? If you could please grant this request, I will no longer reach out to anyone for assistance, I won't asked to be unblocked, nor will I participate in anyway in of the Wikipedia community in the future. Thank you. Best, Umiamibiz (talk) 11:51, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Apologies, Alexf @Alexf If you didn't already realize, I'm new to this system, and I'm just trying to talk to you all in the only way that I know how to in order to obtain assistance and answers. The changes would never been made if I would have known how horrendous this process would be. If you could please delete my account, since you did not approve my username change request, I would appreciate it, because I no longer plan to edit anything UM related or otherwise, now or in the future. Thank you. Umiamibiz (talk) 16:20, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
