THE AUTHOR

Ukoro Frank O. is a member of PMAN (performing musician Association of Nigerian) since 2000. The name, the game and the fame was not too easy to come by. He is a radio presenter in Adamawa state with the wave band 108 FM stereo. He handles the position of promoting young coming up artiste. One time Oscar winner in the Nigerian Music Industry; 1st October, 2003 from his album “the Tongue on fire. Worn best stage performer from Zain Nigerian with his single. Flower and bee (Highlife). He hails from the village of Umu alor, the local government area of Isi Uzor in Eastern side Nigeria. Hoping to “CANCAN” with many Nijja artistes and the world at large in music hall of fame.

                                               'THE VILLAGE AND THE MUSIC

Man by nature is a social animal which means he can live well and able to interact with each other, the most prominent way one can live and interact is by music performance among other things with and around our local room. The most popular lineage known with the use of music is; Egypt, Greek, Hebrew down to South-Africa according to hierarchy. Music as it is has certain quality which gives it a better definition like Some music could be played to calm the anger of gods due to it sibilant attractive tune. In our “local rooms” during the time of our ancestor, men played music to appease the gods, some to calm village crises others to preach while the rest could be for pleasure which ever style you chose for yourself count for your better tomorrow and your reign in the music scene.

Music is spirit; it could motivate you in different ways; joy, anger, pride and lot more. Musician put music to practices. Music was best played in form of vocal due to the fact that artistes and music listener(s) prefer wordings rather than melody; Modernization came in as such music style changed. As a result of this change, introduction of some local instrument gained ground and the whole idea was very responsible till date. Professionals use them to ease and motivate minds. Among the northerners, they use certain instrument for certain songs such as: Batum, Coral, Goge and lot more to gain music ground, home and abroad also applicable to others tribes and societies.

Several style(s) of music are granted upon individuals by their ancestors, especially the village type (Folk). Music in our “local room” is sung for appraisal as well as the anger of the ancestor, to calm the anger of the gods in the land and to bring the spirit of local warriors to provocation and also softens women’s heart to become softer in the eyes of their men.
