Lets stick to the facts[edit]

The Continental Oil Company that you refer to was dissolved shortly after its assets were acquired by Marland Oil Company (June 1929). (At the time, both companies were trading on the New York Exchange). At the time of the acquisition, Marland Oil Company changed its name to Continental Oil Company.

The corporation that is trading today as CONOCO/Phillips (COP) is the corporation that was incorporated in 1920 as the Marland Oil Company.

What can be more direct than that?

That is why this is a more proper presentation:

Incorporated in Delaware, October 8, 1920 as the Marland Oil Company (founded by E.W. Marland, a future Oklahoma governor.) to acquire through an exchange of stock control of Marland Refining Corp. and Kay County Gas Co. Name changed to Continental Oil Company June 26, 1929, at which time it acquired for a consideration of 2,317,266 shares of stock , the assets (subject to liabilities) of Continental Oil Company(1), a Maine corporation , founded in 1875 as the Continental Oil and Transportation Company, based in Ogden, Utah, a coal, oil, kerosene, grease and candles distributor in the West. The main office was in Ponca City, Oklahoma the location of Marland’s predecessor company, the 101 Ranch Oil Company, founded in 1908, and the location of its first oil well, Willie-Cries-For-War (2). The red triangle symbol previously used by Marland became Conoco's logo from 1930 to 1970 when the current capsule logo was adopted.

I do not believe that CONOCO was disolved in 2002, but that the comapmy was only renamed CONOCO/Phillips. Phillips shareholders were given CONOCO stock in exchange for their Phillips stock. Dismbiguation[edit]

I'm not sure this case has come up; why not ask Wikipedia talk:Disambiguation directly?

In both cases, the other links are possible referents, and for all I know, they are articles; that they don't link shows nothing either way. Someone probably did come to Classic Artists Showcase looking for the song, and that's why the dab page exists. It is usual to have dab pages between two existing articles, but many dab pages have redlinks or bold to not yet extant article, so it's not impossible. It is unusual; but the dab page exists because there are other meanings which may become articles. What WP:DAB dislikes is bveing called on to fix specific problems; this, however, is a general problem, as yet undiscussed, for which you have two examples. Corrections[edit]

Today's CONOCO (previously Continental Oil Company) was (according to Moody's Industrial Manual) incorporated in 1920 as Marland Oil Company, the name was changed in 1929 when Marland Oil bought the assets (subject to Liabilities) of Continental Oil Comapny. (ie: the "merger")

Bag cut[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Bag cut, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.
