SS Ganguly

[edit]

Thanks for your edits on the SS Ganguly page. Sorry for removing the Gelfand reference. I am a big fan of his (wrote the vast bulk of his wiki) but I don't have that book. I would say though that we have to be careful to ensure the comments made on that game are in some way backed up by sources, so preferably if there was a GM-commentary for the game, using that commentary would be much preferable to the existing text. We risk bringing in original research which Wikipedia frowns upon. Bringing in Gelfand quotes is acceptable as long as it is directly relating to the game, perhaps Gelfand commenting that move in the way it is at present. Hi Jkmaskell, Thank you for your message. Ganguly is a family friend of ours and my comments are based on his own detailed analysis of that game. I have omitted the detailed analysis for the sake of simplicity and have paraphrased his comments including the Gelfand reference. I realise that my use of the term Gelfand Dictum might sound inappropriate to some people so I thank you for removing it. I have made the necessary changes, which I hope will be more acceptable. --Udayb5 (talk) 23:06, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
