How can you possibly have wasted so much time on wikipedia when the current edit counter shows no edits? Simply south 16:43, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The one that is no longer active, on your userpage. Try Interiot's "wannabe kate" edit counter, if a little slow, or Tango Tango's. I found these quite good but i am suggesting these as Essjay's is not working anymore either

Re: Block

[edit]

It has indeed become apparent that the person editing under 86.86.242.88 is intentionally vandalising, but please change the block to a temporary one. It's an IP address, and you could be permanently preventing more than one person from editing. --Gray Porpoisecetaceans have large brains 22:32, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is a softblock, so accounts can be registered by editors if they want to contribute constructively. I can reduce the block, though. (aeropagitica) 22:34, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good Job

[edit]

Good job archiving your talk pageit needed it. Also I commented on your WP:ER. I have been having a hard time reverting vandalism today mainly because vandalism is so low today. So I have forced my self to wiki-fy articles and participate in *gulp* AFD's. Have a nice day.-- Seadog 23:24, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

language wiki

[edit]

Dear FP,

I don't know of a wiki like this, thiugh it is a good idea. I made up a language and would wish to publish it. If you do find out please tell me. What is your language like, by the way? I'm using a blackberry right now so please excuse me if there is any misspellings, late response, etc.

Good luck!!!!,

cool and I'll think about it. Mine is a mutated version of Latin that has so many characters that even Chinese people can't remember. Nice sig. Randfan 00:56, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal Fighting

[edit]

Thanks for the kind words about my vandal fighting. I made my own templates because I didn't particurly like the others. Also I crossed the 2000 edit mark. And I have been doing a lot of maintenance work lately such as New page patrolling and Recent changes and also I have been doing a task that will take a while; Rating all the Hinduism articles on the quality scale. I started on the stubs earlier and still have a long way to go. I have really set my wiki-mind on my RFA that I will wish to start in February, is there anything that I can do to improve my chances.-- Seadog 02:08, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I made a list of cetacea page which i have put up for peer review to see what else could be done. My ultimate aim is to get this as a Featured List so that the project has a feature list to go with the 9 FAs. Chris_huhtalk 12:02, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just edited animalia

[edit]

I deleted the part in Animalia about the dating of the Animalia Kingdom based upon evolutionary dating and techniques, because the last time I checked, a NPOV site doesn't have any affiliation with any beliefs, and that dating is inaccurate. There's an EvoWiki where that dating is acceptable; on Wikipedia I hoped I didn't have to deal with self-righteous stuck-up editors who wished as much as to impose their beliefs and dogmatic religion on us.

Good Job!

Well you gave me a b-star for my work on Hinduism related articles, now I am going to give you this award for your amazing work on cetacean related articles, Congratulations! It is amazing how many different types of people (young/old, Hindu/Christian, Guitar lover/Porpoise lover) work together to create a great encyclopedia. Also I just got finished working on this article, It was not very high quality before but now I think it is looking better. What do you think? Hi, I'm working on trying to get Portal:Psychology up to Featured portal status. Any tips you can offer on how to improve it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Rfrisbietalk 16:05, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey buddy

[edit]

I noticed your edit to the WikiDefcon template the other day. I think the developers recently changed the Wiki software to automatically generate edit summaries if a person leaves them blank, which is why these vandals are "pointing out that they're vandalizing". More info here. —Lantoka ( talk | contrib) 02:54, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for directing me to that. It seems to make a useful vandal-fighting tool, nevertheless. --Gray Porpoise 03:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How convenient! I almost took advantage of the summaries to revert some vandalism, but AntiVandalBot beat me to it. --Gray Porpoise 03:28, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yah man, AntiVandalBot is all over page blankings. Anything that shows up in bold on VandalProof AntiVandalBot almost always gets before me. It's a great tool. Props to Tawker/Cyde. Really accurate too. Anyway, I'll see ya around on patrol. ;) —Lantoka ( talk | contrib) 03:30, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Motto

[edit]

Hi, good idea about putting the motto back. I guess it was a little weird to revert that article. I thought it was obvious vandalism since I read it rather quickly. I still do not know what to think about it. Also I accidentally clicked on the wrong link in your sig and it lead me to a Featured Portal nomination. Thank you...It is interesting when you can read something and relate to something completely different. I noticed that you have answered your new questions on your RFA which is very, very good. I never knew that you would like to be a crat, Well in another year or so I will have to nominate you for that also. What is sad though is that one of my Wiki-friends rfa isn't going so well, He has worked very hard and originally it started off very good but then went down hill from there. Cheers and good luck.__Seadog 04:44, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes constructive criticism is good for every body and will always help. Also I changed my sig so that the musical note would be part of the userpage link also since I prefer to keep my whole sig short. I do this since I have seen sigs that take up the whole editing window before! And no I do not participate in any other wikipedias other than the rare anon edits such as linking to here (the other languages section). Recently I have been studying various RFA's including yours and comparing them to my edits. I do this since I would like to have an over all feel for what others like and dis-like. Cheers!__Seadog 05:01, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I basically copied off of others such as User:Kylu for my userpage and my talk page is my own personal creation. The dog has become rather famous in sniffing out vandalism, personal attacks and even trolling! On a bizarre note...My userpage has not been vandalised at all lately since a rather infamous sock puppet vandal and his 10+ other sock puppets got blocked. Creepy...but my talk page is vandalised constantly.__Seadog 05:09, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Glad you noticed...I just said that for fun since you commented on it at your RFA. Also my edit summery percentages have jumped up to 100% for major and 100% for minor edits.__Seadog 05:11, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is the weirdest subpage I have ever seen!--Seadog 20:57, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh you are welcome :D My talk page once again was vandalised! I do not know what is going on, for some reason the vandals would rather vandalise my talk page. Oh and the mood was crying because I was listing to Brahms concerto no. 2 3rd movement, which is very, very sad. I usually listen to classical music when I am editing. Cheers.--Seadog 00:01, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Let me be the first to congratulate you

[edit]

I know your RfA has not been closed yet, but it has passed the deadline and survived the guantlet. Soon a bureaucrat will be along to hand you a mop and although I was one of the few opposes, I wanted to be the first to congratulate you. I have kept an eye on your RfA because although I voted oppose, I did not want the RfA to fail. Had opposes based on my objections started to accumulate, I would have withdrawn my oppose, because as I stated above here, it was not my intention to derail your RfA. —Doug Bell talk 19:08, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is there anyway we could simulate an environment an admin may be placed in? Particularity, in a somewhat heated situation, such as a user angered over being blocked. I was a bit uncivil in the past, and I would like to see how I could cope in that situation. This is the primary reason my last RfA was opposed. -- Selmo (talk) 03:51, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
