Lengthy explanation as to WHY the advice below is pertinent

Could you stop trying to intervene on my side in the Toriyama dispute? You are right on the substance (i.e., how we should be wording the article, not in your claim that "no one" has heard of Dr. Slump or that we should only be writing from an American point of view) but I fear that you're not helping the cause by creating multiple accounts and attacking other users personally. Please see WP:NOTDEMOCRACY: you don't need to "vote" on this issue, and trying to be "counted twice" almost always backfires. The claim that Toriyama is best-known for "Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball" will be fixed in good time, since none of its proponents have presented a single coherent argument in its favour other than accusing me -- an Irish person living in Japan, who has never set foot in the United States and whose main interaction with Toriyama before learning Japanese was through the French translations of Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump (in that order) -- of Americocentrism (while at the same time ironically relying exclusively on American media to support their arguments). Having someone post alongside actually arguing that since Americans haven't heard of Dr. Slump we shouldn't mention it is unlikely to help.

In short, if you really want the reference to Dr. Slump removed, a better idea would be to refrain from posting anymore, especially under any more accounts. 182.249.16.233 (talk) 02:41, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
