[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Thom Gunn, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. RA0808 talkcontribs 21:38, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Neutrality, editorializing, unattributed opinions
[edit]Hello,
I have noticed some issues in some of the content you have been adding to wikipedia. Wikipedia needs to be written from a Neutral point of view, and in an encyclopedic fashion. Opinions need to be attributed (not notable, reliable sources) and not in WP:Wikivoice. Personal interpretation/analysis of facts and opinions is WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH which cannot be used on wikipedia.
A number of your edits are pushing (and exceeding) the boundaries on these principles. While this style of writing is fine for an essay, or blog, or critical review, it is not fine for an encyclopedia. Here are a few problematic examples. Please respond here if you have any questions or would like to discuss further.
- His attitude toward being treated differently based on his skin color is beautifully positive; he simply laughs off the racial segregation and predicts imminent change for the better. His audacity is not only an outlet for expressing his personal experience, but also a voice for the entire subjugated black community in America.
- In to Pimp a Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar captures the essence of a black life in America that is far from universal, but definitely truthful to his experience. His album continues a nuanced dialog about weighty topics that affect the African American community. Releasing his album in a precious historical moment for black activism,
- If one were to step back from these tangible institutions, the more encompassing themes of faith and doubt play an equally important role in the novel; both of these, in fact, are similar in that they are catalysts for action. Whenever a character proclaims faith in something, that something is pursued. Similarly, when a character doubts something, that is pursued. In the book, doubt can be viewed as a transfer of faith; whenever a character is doubting, they are simply deciding to put their faith in something else. Because the book has no universal standard of morality or value system, there is no black and white. Whatever the character believes in is what they pursue, whether or not it conflicts with the beliefs of another character. As an exemplification of this idea, one can turn to Sue’s final decision to leave Jude. In the final part of the novel, because of a change in her beliefs, Sue discovers that she is committed only to Mr. Phillotson. Because she puts faith in something else, in this case religion (and therefore marriage), she takes action in a completely different direction than before.
- There lies an evident contrast between the constant passing of time signalled by Big Ben and the random crossing of time in Woolf’s writing. Although it seems random, it only demonstrates the infinite amount of possibilities that the world can offer once connected by the individuality of each person inside.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:"America" by Claude McKay.pdf
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:"America" by Claude McKay.pdf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Kharkiv07 (T) 20:42, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
