TYNEEGIANT are a 7- piece Reggae band based in Rotorua that came together at the end of 2016/2017 with the aim of writing, recording and performing their original music around the world. The group have an eclectic mix of band members put together by Patu Colbert founder of the band 1814. “I was brought up 5 miles out of Rotorua in a place called Ngongotaha. I have family and friends living here and since moving down these ways, written a new chapter in my life, hence TYNEEGIANT”, said Patu.

The band have scored the opening act at One Love 2018 and have more gigs planned for next year after the release of their debut album Cover Up. Patu said, “Our first single Reality, has been released with a follow up single around December and album early next year. We have songs to suit everyone, from roots, rock reggae, skank to ska. There’s so much material to write about today where do you start, what are you passionate about. I’ve seen a lot of changes since I was a 10 year old, when we had no power to nuclear this and nuclear that today, the world has grown and changed big time. Wow a lot of terrible stuff is going on world wide and when we see world powers abusing their power, gives us heaps to write about yeah man unreal”.
