A tag has been placed on North Rome Church of God requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 06:03, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with North Rome Church of God. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. ttonyb (talk) 06:30, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

About North Rome Church of God

[edit]

Hi Tylerh711!
I can see you've put a lot of hard work into what's called on Wikipedia an "article", North Rome Church of God. You wrote that this was for a school project. I really hope you get good marks for your project. I also hope you have kept a copy of what you added. This is because your article will probably be deleted from Wikipedia sometime in the future.
But you've put so much work into it! How is that fair? Have a look at the article as it is now. There's a box at the top of the article which says:

This article may not meet the general notability guideline. Please help to establish notability by adding reliable, secondary sources about the topic. If notability cannot be established, the article is likely to be merged, redirected, or deleted.

To be included in Wikipedia, an article needs to be "notable". What does "notability" mean? I'll give you some examples. Who is your favourite baseball or football player? For a sports player to be "notable", they generally must have to have played pro ball. What's your favourite band? For a band to be "notable", they generally must have a single or album on any country's national music chart. I would like my own church and my sports team to have a wikipedia article, but they are not "notable".
Can you think of any ways that your church, your church's building, and your church's pastors current and past may be "notable"?--Shirt58 (talk) 13:08, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on North Rome Church of God, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
