License tagging for Image:Wawragood.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wawragood.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

I noticed you appear to be involved in biology articles or WikiProjects relating to biology and human processes. This article, on a method for evaluating biological utilizations rates of proteins in humans and animals, was started in August and is in need of the attention of an expert. We are having trouble locating one and the article desperately needs it. This method is used constantly in bodybuilding magazines and products and is the subject of much misinformation and half-truths. On the other hand it does appear to have some value. Please help if possible. In case you're wondering why I picked you I just looked through some Science WikiProjects and biology articles and your name appeared a lot in one or both categories. Incidentally if you decide not to do this for whatever reason there's no need to reply. I'll just take it you're busy or uninterested and leave it at that. Thanks. Speedy deletion of Wullschlaegelia
[edit]A tag has been placed on Wullschlaegelia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g2.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Blair - Speak to me 00:54, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
{{Annonaceae-stub}}
[edit]Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 01:25, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I saw that you had nominated this article at Wikipedia:Good article nominations. Because it is a list, however, it is not eligible for Good Article status. Lists should be taken to Wikipedia:Featured lists. There is a requirement for a certain amount of prose to introduce the list, however, so you should make sure you read through the criteria (sorry I can't help more, but I don't remember any specifics about a length requirement). Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 15:19, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Stephan Schulzer von Müggenburg
[edit]A tag has been placed on Stephan Schulzer von Müggenburg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. CelesJalee (talk) 04:27, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Stephan Schulzer von Müggenburg, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 05:11, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

All done! An interesting article on Szepes County, too. I suppose I should read up on it a bit more given my surname. I know I have family in Slovakia somewhere, but I don't remember where. I aspire to learn the language, too, but I think that's more of a pipe dream. Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 23:21, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
- Learning the language is cheaper! As an aside, perhaps you may be interested in this: Wikipedia:User categories for discussion#Category:Wikipedians in the Zips. It seems there's a convention on user category naming. I'm not all that familiar with the area and don't have a strong position either way. Your source for the claim about Adriaan Reland "never ventured beyond the borders of Netherlands"?
[edit]Hi,
It seems you contributed a claim about Adriaan Reland on the biograhie-page about him:
Revision as of 15:16, 6 February 2009 (edit) (undo) Tusbra
Your claim: "Although he never ventured beyond the borders of Netherland"
Do you have a source for the claim that Reland never ventured beyond the borders of Netherland?
There is a opposite claim on the page "Palestine" saying Reland visited Palestine in 1695:
Quote: 3.2.1 Travelers' impressions of 19th century Palestine
The Dutch scholar and cartographer Adriaan Reland visited Palestine in 1695, made a population census, and came to the conclusion that Palestine was mostly empty with several existing communities of Jews and Christians.[196]

Acute exacerbation of COPD
[edit]I just had the chance to actually address your comment on this article, I apologize that it took me so long. What do you mean by saying that the title needs translation into english? If you would, please reply on my talk page. Thanks, Tyrol5 [Talk] 00:12, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarifying, please feel welcome to replace the sentence, making it more appropriate for the article. Due to your medical experience, I am not at all offended by having this pointed out, as it is merely an improvement to the article. Thanks again, Tyrol5 [Talk] 01:16, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
In the sentence that you added, I think that you meant to put something between standard and defining. Your sentence looked like this: "This means that there is no universally accepted standard defining an acute..." I corrected this just now. All the best, Tyrol5 [Talk] 01:43, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Robert Vambery, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.lib.umd.edu/archivesum/bak/text/MdU.ead.litms.0061.xml.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 15:41, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Robert Vambery
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Robert Vambery requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Zachlipton (talk) 19:44, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- The copyright licensing for this text, as stated here, is for Fair Use only. Fair Use is incompatible with Wikipedia licensing. As such, using the original text is copyright infringement. — CactusWriter (talk) 06:54, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 7
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tetramicra, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Nir and Rolfe (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Franz Sieber
[edit]Hello Tusbra,
Thank you for your excellent article on Franz Sieber. I am writing articles about Melaleuca species - Melaleuca sieberi at the moment and I wanted to know where the specific epithet came from. What an amazing story with such a sad end! I will add a bit about his Australian contributions but I hope you will not mind if I make some small grammatical changes too. Australians generally only speak one language - on a couple of walking trips in Switzerland I have been deeply impressed by the ability of Europeans to speak a number of languages. I even heard a railway guard having a converstion (I presume fluently) with some Japanese tourists having spoken to me in perfect English.
I notice that you do not seem to have contibuted to Wikipedia for a while. I hope that's only because you are busy - maybe contibuting to it in a different language! Wikipedia needs experts like you (as well as school teachers).
My very best wishes to you. Gderrin (talk) 23:08, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
