The article List of Divisions of the Marine Corps League has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability. Yes, the MCL has divisions, and?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article List of Detachments of the Marine Corps League has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication why we should have a list of over 1,000 non notable detachments (or why at the moment these 6 are included and the other 1000 not).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Hello, I'm wondering if you represent or are affiliated with the MCL in some way. If you are, this might trigger certain Wikipedia policies that you would need to comply with. Regarding your edits, you would need independent reliable sources about the organization, and if you want to have articles about its subunits, sources about those subunits themselves, that indicate how the notability guidelines at WP:ORG have been met. 331dot (talk) 09:51, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I joined Wikipedia about 9 years ago, but I haven't been involved in any major editing or creating pages until recently. I am still learning the process of editing and creating pages. I ask that no deletion process be applied to New York Detachment No. 1 and McLemore Detachmemt as both are historic detachments within the Marine Corps League and have been in continuous operation since its formation. I do appreciate the advice and editing of the work I've done and I am still learning the process. As I learn more about creating pages and editing, I will apply the knowledge, it will just take a little time as I have other obligations as well. Thank you. Hello. If you want to reduce the chance the pages will be deleted, I would suggest that you consent to the articles being moved to draft space, where you can take your time to work on them until they are ready. As long as the are in the main encyclopedia, they are fair game for properly applied deletion processes.
With regards to the articles themselves, you will need independent reliable sources that discuss these subunits of the MCL themselves, otherwise they should be discussed in the MCL article. 331dot (talk) 17:04, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I have no problem with both articles being moved to draft space. I'll also start reading the articles you suggested to learn how to create the pages and editing. Thank you. Tumbler1624 (talk) 00:29, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved the two pages to Draft:New York Detachment No. 1 and Draft:McLemore Detachment and will shortly add the appropriate template to allow you to submit them when you are ready to. As long as you are working on the drafts, they shouldn't be deleted. Drafts are only deleted after 6 months of inactivity. If you wish to reply further, simply edit this section instead of creating a new one with a new header. 331dot (talk) 01:20, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I greatly appreciate your help. Reading your suggested article, I made my first successful citation insert with the Marine Corps League page. Thanks again for your help.
