I noticed your additions to Krav Maga. Good stuff. We have another article Kapap that could use a little work. If you could offer some insight that would be greatly appreciated. - 4twenty42o (talk) 05:05, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I will read up a little on it and see what I can do. I am not all that clear whether Kapap is not actually an element of Krav Maga?

Tulli

Welcome

I noticed that you have twice removed the word Palestine from the article on Hummus. There were many long discussions on this issue, and the present version of the article came about as a result of compromise and consensus. Please do not delete those words again. If you would like to reopen the discussion, please do so on the talk page. Thank you for your understanding. Tiamuttalk 15:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With respect Tulli, if you wish to change the terminology (which is supported by the sources cited, despite your claims to the contrary), I ask that you open a discussion and achieve consensus for your change before making them again. Thanks. Tiamuttalk 10:58, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With equal respect, I have not yet been able to locate the oiginal source to see if in fact all the quotes attributed to the source are indeed accurate. I have however read the Bible and can assure you that although olive oil is indeed mentioned it does not call the land Palestine. You have also seen the comments on the Talk page and that nobody agrees that the Bible would mention Palestine. Whatever the source (and its mentioned and its motivations) you are trying to preempt any compromise by reverting neutral terminology back to politically charged instances that have no bearing on the subject in hand.

The discussions in Talk have already been held. The question of compromise is applicable where it is abvious both parties are doing all that is possible to achieve consensus. In this respect I fail to see any compromise. In fact the two changes I made were compromises that took into account the sensibilities cited on the talk page and indeed replaced the two references with neutral terms. You simply replaced them again with the same.

Please understand Tiamut, while I am human and no human is totally without bias, I am not unsympathetic to your opinion. I am not on a crusade to remove references to Palestine, nor do I happen to be hostile to its existence or rights. This article however has become battlefield for Palestinian recognition beyond any reasonable proportions. Palestine is the practically the most prominent word in the article after Houmous, which i hope you agree was supposed to be what this article is about.

I do not wish to start a flame war or even be involved in one, I will not however quietly see ludricrous innacuracies let stand just so political points can be scored, by anybody, in a totally unrelated context. [User:Tulli|Tulli]] (talk) 11:28, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Dear Tulli ... I can assure tat the sources cited do use the term the term "Palestine" (there is no way the word would ever have been included if they did not). While you may see the appearance of Palestine in the article multiple times as problematic, it is in fact appropriate, given that Hummus is intimately associated with Palestine.
The Bible (though I mush appreciate and enjoy it) is not a reliable source for Hummus or for the usage of historical terms in an article like Hummus.
The page has been protexted now, and I urge you to participate in the discussion at the article talk page. If consensus cannot be reached, the page is likely to remain locked. So please do so. Tiamuttalk 11:33, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have since found the original book (Brothwell and Brothwell and it does indeed use the term. I also see that its only real critic bemoans its loose referencing. The Bible is not supposed to be a source about Houmous but it is the best source to defend itself. It is simply falacious to imply that the Bible would have referenced the Area as Palestine, regardless of your political views. This article does and that is ridiculous. WRT to Houmous being a Palestinian dish; Please don't tell the lebanese (-: (that was just a joke)Tulli (talk) 11:49, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
