Unsourced content regarding private, living persons

[edit]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Angelo Moore. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This material cannot be added to a Wikipedia article without verification, including the citation of appropriate references. Please read and comply with the important Wikipedia content policies I cited in reply to your talk page postings. You otherwise will seriously jeopardize your editing privileges. September 2009

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 12 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at Angelo Moore. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. If you've read the BLP policy, you'd know that we are particularly strict in regards to sourcing and privacy issues on articles about living people. We simply can't take you at your word that Mr. Moore wants you to insert this information, especially given that these are non-public people. Unless you can find sources for this--and not from bulletin boards or other questionable sites either, don't insert this again when your block expires, or you'll be blocked again. 3RR violation warning

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Angelo Moore. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. You need to recognize that Wikipedia policy forbids the placement of unsourced personal information into Wikipedia articles, especially information regarding private persons who are not themselves the subject of Wikipedia articles. You have given no reasons whatever why the delay involved in finding reliable sources will be harmful, nor have you engaged in any reasonable dialogue regarding the matter or asked for any assistance in making your edits acceptable. I've attempted to find reliable online sources verifying your claims, and I don't see any. As I've pointed out to you, while Wikipedia editors are very helpful to persons wishing to improve the accuracy of articles about them, Wikipedia does not allow article subjects to control the contents of articles concerning them, and Wikipedia's requirements that biographical details be reliably sourced will not be relaxed at your (or anyone's) request. On sourcing

[edit]

If a subject of an article really does want certain personal details in an article then the best thing to do is to make it so that those details are actually sourceable per our reliable sourcing policy. Easy ways to do this are for the subject to post the details on an official website or to mention them in an interview or something similar. JoshuaZ (talk) 23:13, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
