Wilkommen im Wikipedia! - Mark 09:40, 13 May 2004 (UTC)

Talk: Diet soda and other stuff
Hey Trey: You got a point on both questions at the Talk page. I myself always questioned the mathematical meaning that when Tab came, 1.5 percent of the soda market was dominated by diet sodas' being that Tab is the first known version of sugar free soda. Perhaps they defined diet soda in other ways then.
For a more ample answer on the issue, go to the talk page.
I see youre a computer programmer. We need more people like you. Me Im just a television watching, Hilary Duff and Mowry twins admirer who is 31, Diabetic, a huge fan of boxing and aviation who stays at home except if there is a party and I decided to help society by contributing by boxing, pop culture and airlines knowledge. I also buy plenty of teenager magazines, to stay on top of the game, if you know what Im saying.
I have tried to lure some other competent minds, (Paul, a future minister, and Brandon Goad, president of student affairs at ASU to see if they can help with their knowledge. Paul has shown interest about writing Bible related articles and Brandon doesnt have an answer yet. Paul does not have Internet access at his new home, a camp for future pastors where he must stay until October. They are both friends of mine.
I did enlist my dad, a former member of the Marines who is sharing his great knowledge of the military to the site. Go say hi to him! He'll appreciate it.
Thanks for cheking the page and God bless you! stay in contact!
Sincerely yours, Antonio La Chica Loca Martin
Thanks for the reply regarding "answerable objections." It's just really depressing that now my article is nominated, that it'll be stalled and eventually taken off nomination status because of a "gut feeling." TheCustomOfLife 00:41, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)
McKellen
Hi, Since the great McKellen title controversy seems to have died down, it might be worth noting that no-one has actually objected to the article being featured on that ground. As far as I can see, the only current objection is Explodingboy's, which should be quite easily dealt with. Markalexander100 07:10, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Japan
Have you been to Japan? I was reading your user page and I was curious. I lived in 大和市 (神奈川県) from 1997 to 1999. It was a great experience. TheCustomOfLife 18:15, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)
"Minor Edits"
Sorry Trey, if you are refering to the Seattle Central Library edits, I am simply attempting to better space the images - I thought these where considered minor edits, and I had the option set a my default (which I did not notice).
No, not just on the Seattle Central Library, but looking back over your contribution history, you've been marking every edit as minor because of your preferences. Adding a new image to a page is never minor, but you've marked new images as minor many times. I'm annoyed because I spent most of the evening color-balancing the photos I'd taken of the library in preparation for uploading them, and I didn't notice your additions because they were marked minor. Once I went to the page to add them, I discovered that they were now mostly redundant, and I spent the evening uselessly. --TreyHarris 04:41, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
I was not aware you also where going to upload pictures, I guess I beat you to it. Feel free to add any image you feel that might contribute to the article. The external view (showing the cars) does seem a likely candidate to be replaced if you have a better exterior shot.
Sorry - no problem. Just a newbie mistake. ;) -Bilge(*)
Actually, the pronunciation guide was right. He DOES pronounce it Cheeney. Nobody gets it right. RickK 21:37, Jun 26, 2004 (UTC)
Condoleezza Rice
Hi,
I noticed your edit to Condoleezza Rice a few days ago. I must dispute your claim that the use of "black" as a noun is "just plain offensive". For example, dictionary.com defines black (n.) as:
a) A member of a racial group having brown to black skin, especially one of African origin. b) An American descended from peoples of African origin having brown to black skin; an African American.
It makes no mention of the term being offensive. I apologize if you were offended, but it is certainly not something I anticipated.
Personally, I find the phrasing "She is the second black person..." to be excessivly careful, cloyingly politically correct, and awkward. An analogy would be replacing instances of "Jew" with "Jewish person" even though the former term is entirely proper.
I would appreciate any comments you have on the issue.
Sincerely,

- Hi again, Trey,
- I thoroughly enjoyed reading your response on my talk page. I found it convincing. I now have two questions:
- Would you object to the wording, "She is the second black and first female holder of the office"?
- Why did my original edit not qualify as minor?
- Again, I appreciate your reply.
- Thanks,
- Acegikmo1 16:31, 6 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Sir Ian McKellen
It would, if the biography MoS said that, but as far as I can see it doesn't. Proteus (Talk) 08:29, 7 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Native American placenames project
Hi Trey, Node here... I'm having a little trouble at Talk:Tucson, Arizona and especially Talk:Mesa, Arizona regarding Native American translations of placenames. Do you think you might be able to help me out a little? Please? --Node 23:20, 19 Jul 2004 (UTC)
