Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Jacob Quistgaard, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.vivaroxymusic.com/musicians_756.php.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. July 2014

[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Jacob Quistgaard  with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 03:55, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jacob Quistgaard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.vivaroxymusic.com/musicians_756.php. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Jacob Quistgaard

[edit]

It would be a copyright violation unless the article is specifically marked "public domain". Jim1138 (talk) 04:24, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

May I suggest using article for creation method? You can get reviews and approval for it without it getting unceremoniously deleted. I can be a bit tough though. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 04:37, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Using other's sources

[edit]

Hi there. I thought you might be interested in a few bits of policy regarding the use of other's work. Note that this is not exhaustive by any means! Of course there's Wikipedia:Copyright. Perhaps more specifically: Wikipedia:Copyright#Using copyrighted work from others and Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. If you have questions, be sure to ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. You can leave me a note, but I am not too well versed on this. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 21:21, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Jacob "Quist" Quistgaard.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jacob "Quist" Quistgaard.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 21:52, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Jacob "Quist" Quistgaard.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Jacob "Quist" Quistgaard.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:37, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just saw your edit on my user page. You should leave edits on the talk page. Otherwise, I won't be alerted to them. It appears that you figured out the problem without me! You can always as questions at the wp:teahouse. A useful template or two: Template:Infobox musical artist Template:Cite web. Also, you can use a reference in multiple places. Just start your ref with something like <ref name="Quist1">... </ref> Place it at the normal place. When you want to reuse add <ref name="Quist1"/> Note the "/" at the end of the reuse. I would suggest looking at a number of articles of similar individuals and copy what looks good. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 07:27, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Tree866. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Jacob "Quist" Quistgaard".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Jacob "Quist" Quistgaard}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 20:43, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
