You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:32, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tottenham Hotspur

[edit]

Hi. I noticed that you've accepted a pending change over at Tottenham Hotspur F.C.. The problem is that William Gallas hasn't yet officially joined the club. Until this is confirmed, perhaps you could reject any additions of his name to the squad list rather than accepting them? Cordless Larry (talk) 08:06, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, the transfer is complete now so my message is redundant. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:33, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted the edit that led to the orphaning of this file, so that this file is no longer orphaned. Still fair use. travisl (talk) 19:03, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes on Twilight Zones episodes

[edit]

Hi there - it isn't just the length of the quotes that is a problem, it is the purpose for which they are used. WP:NFC says "[b]rief quotations of copyrighted text may be used to illustrate a point, establish context, or attribute a point of view or idea." The quotes of narrations in these episode articles do none of those things: they're not accompanied by any prose and serve no discernible purpose other than decoration. --Mkativerata (talk) 19:07, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I hadn't seen the discussion at WT:CP#Twilight zone episodes. I'll follow up there. Thanks for the heads up. travisl (talk) 19:14, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, you read it right. I was kind of going fast through some of the WA road stubs, and misinterpreted the road as a West-East highway from the map, which if it was would be the proper way of writing it, but its actually a North-South highway... If you want to correct the prose, feel free, else I will get to it probably this weekend. --Admrboltz (talk) 23:41, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:NewBridge.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Kelly hi! 14:26, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It was nominated in error, because the photo at http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=821575714&size=l was licensed as CC-BY-2.0. The Washington State Department of Transportation retroactively changed it to BY-NC-ND-2.0, but I'd already posted the more freely licensed image by then. Regardless, it was no longer linked anywhere, so deletion for that reason might be appropriate. travisl (talk) 03:31, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Washington photos

[edit]

Thanks for taking these pictures of highways in Central Washington. Just make sure to properly categorize them on Wikimedia Commons (as there are categories for every state highway, it is pretty easy); titling them with more detail is also helpful. Captions just need to be short and use the proper short form (SR 173 instead of SR-173). SounderBruce 03:26, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Travisl,

I found you as a member of the Twilight Zone task force. I've noticed that all of the episodes of the original (1950s-60s) series and 1980s series have their own individual articles.

Can you or other members of the task force (@Roman Spinner and Lugnuts:) evaluate whether some these episodes are individually notable? I would assume most of these articles could be merged into the individual season articles.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Freedom Overspill, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Fleming. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A tag has been placed on Farrells, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
