Hey, Well Namboodiri and Namboothiri are the commonest surnames they use and this is the first time i have heard namboodhiri. Even the books i have read donot mention that spelling for the name. And welcome to wiki since ur new. And before any changes are brought about its usually mentioned on the talk page so that the other editors who have been working on the article for so long now get to know. Kindly do that the next time. Manu

  • Hello, what Manu says about changes is wrong. He is only interested in articles related to his caste and pov. So dont pay much attention to him. No need to discuss all changes, only major changes. Namboodiri has five times more Google results than Namboothiri.

Hello

[edit]

Hello, I'm afraid I would have to go with Manu here. Although phonetically Namboodhiri is correct (i.e., it is similar to the Malayalam pronunciation), Namboothiri/Namboodiri is how the surnames are spelt currently. I haven't seen Namboodhiri before. Also, if you notice the Wikipedia article is named as such. I urge you not to be discouraged by this. I invite you to take part even more. At wikipedia, we assume good faith. If you have issues with someone regarding their changes, either talk to them on their talk page, or on the article's talk page. :) --vi5in[talk] 19:41, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
