I would like to become an administrator I have read over the guidelines several times and I am a part of wiki projects could I please be a candidate for adminship Tramfan1203 (talk) 13:51, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I must be frank with you. Your chances of being given administrator powers at this time are zero. I will say again, to be given administrator powers by the community, you must build up a significant edit history that shows you understand Wikipedia policies, have good judgement, have a need for the powers(just wanting to be an admin is not sufficient), and can show that you have contributed to the encyclopedia. (among other things) This generally takes years to achieve. You have made no edits to the main encyclopedia whatsoever. Even I, an administrator, have not read every single policy Wikipedia has. There are many.
I did not ever seek out administrator powers. Other users noticed by edits and thought I would be a good candidate, and agreed to nominate me. I was here five years before others noticed me. Self-nominations are possible, but it's much better when others nominate you. No one will do this for you until you have a significant edit history and contributions.
As I said, you can do 95% of things here without having administrator powers. Having the powers does not convey any special status, you would still be the same as any other editor. If you want to work towards being an administrator, just concentrate on being a good Wikipedia user and make good contributions. Eventually you will be noticed if that happens. 331dot (talk) 14:01, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks buddy oh by the way may I call you buddy Tramfan1203 (talk) 14:03, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It would be better if you addressed me by my username. As I told your friend, I would suggest that you read WP:YOUNG and use the new user tutorial to learn more about Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 14:04, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oh no no I am older than him Tramfan1203 (talk) 14:05, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I still get the sense that you are a youth(do not tell me your age) and it would really be a good idea. 331dot (talk) 14:06, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I’m way past youth Years Tramfan1203 (talk) 14:07, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In any event, you should still use the new user tutorial, which is not just for youths, but everyone. 331dot (talk) 14:12, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks I will by any chance do you want a template to put on Tramfan1203 (talk) 14:13, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you are asking, but I am curious as to why you created your account four minutes after BTM2009's last edit. Both you and him should be aware that it is fine to stop using one account and start another, but not to use two accounts at the same time. There are technical ways to find out if that is happening, and you can be blocked for abusing multiple accounts if you are found to. 331dot (talk) 14:19, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
