Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Expo 75 Logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Expo 75 Logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:14, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Columbus (not) at Peleliu

[edit]

I noted your comment in talk on the Battle of Peleliu. According to DANFS, Columbia (CL-56), a light cruiser, was present at Peleliu; also DANFS confirms that Columbus (CA-74) was commissioned after the battle, as you correctly noted. I have edited the article to reflect that. Naaman Brown (talk) 01:42, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Expo 75 Logo.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Expo 75 Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.

DD574 status

[edit]

I see you reciently updated DD574, but I think the information you have is stale? I'm preparing to add a more up to date entry, but wanted to touch bases with you first to find out what your information sources are?

The Mexican museum group has been unable to accmplish their goals and are no longer interested. I'm now in contact with an American who has just about finished securing the title to the ship and plans to bring her to San Francisco for renovation.

My personal interest is that my living uncle served on her during WWII. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Petwir (talkcontribs) 18:25, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:UssMemphis.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:43, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also do you have a 'registry number'(?) for this sepecfic vessel? I think there's been more than one USS Memphis. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:43, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The file File:USS Memphis (CA10).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
