Hello!!!

We did read and understand the Wikipedia terms on self-promotion, however upon reading articles of companies similar to us, it seemed that several of them had made artices about themselves, for instance: "spotify" or "pandora".

TouchDiva has been around for longer than many other similar companies, and many articles have been written in the Danish, and international press. It was our intention to ad these references today. Given the extensive list of links to articles below, we believe that our company fulfills the notability requirements of Wikipedia. At the same time, all information we have written is backed up by these 3rd-party sources.

We have tried to be as neutral as possible when writing the text, and of course expect others to edit the page once it is up - but someone should put it there in the first place!

We tried to start a "talk" page this morning in order to post the references below - according to the recommendations put forth by Wiki - but were unable to do so, since we have been blocked.

A quick search for articles about TouchDiva yielded the following links and over the following days, we intend to come up with even more 3rd party documentation:

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article TouchDiva, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. CutOffTies (talk) 15:10, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:15, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear Sirs!

We have been blocked by administrator JamesBWatson. Mr. Watson has pointed out that we didn't fullfill notability requirements etc. Since then, we have written a reply under our talk page, and sent numerous emails to Mr. Watson. However, we have not received any reply from Mr. Watson, despite several mails from our side.

Above we have linked to 27 different 3rd party sources on the internet. Several of the links being to major TV stations, recognized companies, and numerous major printed tech-magazines. On the basis of these articles, we believe that we fullfill the notability requirements. Everything written in the original article may be backed up by these 3rd party sources.

We hope that this email may initiate a dialogue between us, so that we may carry on the process.

Decline reason:

I'm sorry that your experience here so far has been less than ideal, but there are some things you'll need to understand if you are to edit Wikipedia. First, using your organization's name (or variant of) as your username is not acceptable, nor is your use of "we", which implies that it is being used my more than one person (see WP:NOSHARE). Second, it is almost never proper for someone with such an obvious conflict of interest to write an article about their organization. If your organization is truly notable, someone not associated with the organization will undoubtedly write an article such as the Pandora Radio article you mentioned above. —DoRD (talk) 11:37, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please note that all Wikipedia editors and admins are volunteers and do have lives outside Wikipedia. Please also note that Wikipedia accounts are for the use of one person, not pairs (even identical twins...), groups or companies. Your use of 'we' implies that you haven't got the message yet. Friendly advice

[edit]

Here's how to become unblocked ...

  1. Promise to not violate WP:COI - this will mean not writing about your company
  2. Ensure only 1 person has access to the account, as per our WP:NOSHARE
  3. Submit a request to change the name of this account to something that clearly is not related to the company, as per the same username policy
  4. Understand the concept of reliable sources and notability

As such, you will need to read the guide to appealing blocks, and use the {{unblock-spamun}} template once you have addressed these issues. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:54, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
