Deletion of Ritesh Agarwal
[edit]Upon review of what you changed—and I didn't see a whole lot in the way of added sources and minimal in activities undertaken or awards earned by him—I have deleted Ritesh Agarwal. One key issue is that you failed to demonstrate that he has done anything to make himself more notable than he was before. Many of the accolades mentioned were the result of his company, not him. Notability is not inherited, and being rich doesn't translate to notability.
There is a deeper issue when I looked at your contribution history and noticed this is the only article you have been working on. One of the issues raised at the deletion discussion as the promotional nature of the earlier version of the article. With all due respect, it is exceptionally suspicious that you created this account and have focused only on Agarwal, and it raises the strong possibility that this account was created with the intent of promoting or otherwise generating publicity for Agarwal. Before you go any further, you need to make very clear what brought you to Wikipedia and what connection, if any, you have with Agarwal or his companies. —C.Fred (talk) 00:01, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
- First of all, thank you for taking the time to respond on my talk page. From what I understand, notability is established by having significant coverage in reliable news sources. There is A LOT. Like really a lot of news articles covering him. Just the past 10 days, you can see the huge amount of news coverage that he received from top publications where the article talks nothing else but him. Even before that $2 billion deal, you can see the whopping amount of coverage he received over the years. It is a very huge list from different newspapers.
As for the contribution history and that I'm here for only one subject, that is not true. Actually, I'm working on another page in my sandbox. As for Agarwal, I happen to have learned about him in the news in that latest deal. Tortew (talk) 00:14, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
Amanda Cerny
[edit]There is currently a discussion going on at WP:ANI regarding your actions at Amanda Cerny, which were not appropriate. Cutting and pasting text from one article into another without proper attribution violates Wikipedia's licensing requirements. In addition, moving the existing page to a different location broke the chain of article history. If you want to replace a redirect with an independent article, the correct path is ordinarily to edit the existing page, substituting the new text for the redirect text. I am copying the portion of original text which you wrote here, for your convenience if you want to make another try at creating a new article, although I think it might be more prudent to use the pre-redirect text in the article history as your starting point.
